The foundation’s packaging is very simple and practical, IMO. It comes in a squeeze-tube packaging with a nozzle so it allows you to just squeeze just an ample amount of product that you need. It’s quite travel friendly too because of the screw-on cap so you’re sure that the product wont spill all over your makeup kit.
This foundation comes in 4 shades: 01 Light, 02 Natural, 03 Medium & 04 Tan. I get that this foundation is specially formulated for Asian skin (as it says here) but I wish they included a more deeper shade especially seeing all of these shades aren’t much different from each other. When I first used this I was using 01 Light but when I was finally testing them out, I figured that there’s no huge difference between the first two to three shades. I can still use them it just depends on what press powder I use afterwards. I’m not asking for 40 shades, lol I’m just asking for a bit of variety.
The consistency of this foundation is VERRRY lightweight it doesn’t even feel like a foundation at all. It feels like a cross between a tinted moisturizer & BB Cream. It’s fit for everyday use and I’m sure your pores wont hate you either. I prefer to use a sponge to blend this as it applies more seamless using such but feel free to experiment using other tools.
This has more of a light to medium coverage and it’s very buildable. It has a demi-matte finish and it doesn’t emphasize my pores. Mind you, I didn’t use any primer in these photos. I’ve used this with and without primer and it lays beautifully and flawlessly on top of my face. What I noticed, however, is when I used a hydrating primer one time, it kinda affected the longevity, compared to when I didn’t use any primer. Without any primer, this lasted me for more than six to eight hours, with very minimal fading. But with (hydrating) primer, it only lasted on my skin for four hours and by that time I could only see a hint of my blush/contour. Do take note, however, that I have a normal to dry skin type and results may vary depending on your skin type.
The foundation claims to be non-comedogenic (won’t block pores) and have SPF30/PA+++. It also doesn’t smell anything out of the ordinary so if you’re one of those who are sensitive to scented makeup products then this wont bother you. Silkygirl also, as far as I know is a cruelty-free makeup brand. I haven’t seen the logo in their website or in their social media but they confirmed this in their official Facebook account here.
Overall, I really do like this foundation. If you don’t like BB/CC creams and you find that tinted moisturizers don’t offer you the coverage that you need, then you might want to try this one. This offers a really nice coverage for every day use, it’s blends and sits beautifully onto the skin, and it lasts for hours (just use a mattifying primer, I suppose?) It’s also very affordable as it retails for only Php 329. I guess the only thing that I don’t like about this product is the shade range and the lack of “variety”. It only comes in 4 shades and they’re not that different from each other. If you have a lighter skin tone than mine, and if you’re morena, then this foundation wont work for you. I really wish that Silkygirl will come up with more shades so that more people can try this product because I really like it.
