Silkygirl Matte Junkie Lip Creams – Review, Photos & Swatches

Hi loves! I’m so excited to move on to reviewing a new set of products. We’re not done with Cathy Doll Nude Me products yet, but for now, we’ll be reviewing this one first. I’ve actually been using this one for quite a while and a couple of them have been my favorites. They’re the Silkygirl Matte Junkie Lip Creams.

This kissproof and transfer resistant lipcolor applies like a liquid lipstick that dries to a matte finish. It stays on your lips through day and night activities requiring minimal touch-ups.

The lip cream’s packaging is pretty simple and straight forward. It actually reminds me of Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream’s packaging. Only this one’s taller, and slimmer. This comes with a plastic tube, which already reflects the shade of each product. It’s actually pretty accurate. Aside from the packaging itself, it also comes with a sticker underneath the tube which indicates the shade’s name. The lip cream also comes with a doe foot applicator allowing you to be more precise in terms of application.

The Silkygirl Matte Junkie Lip Creams come in 5 original shades (01 Retro, 02 Glamour, 03 Rebel, 04 Vintage and 05 Vixen) with four new shades (06 Darling, 07 Dolly, 08 Artsy and 09 Rouge). I only have their original shades and I’m not sure if the new ones are already available here. What I have are mostly the nude, wearable ones. Let’s begin.

These lip creams have a lighter, thinner texture and they’re also non-drying kinda similar to Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creams only they differ in longevity (which I will get to later). I didn’t encounter any issues applying them, they glide on super easily. They’re also very lightweight and they don’t feel like you have an instant cement drying on your lips. However, I suggest you still prime and exfoliate if you have overly dry lips because like any other matte lipstick,it can still somehow accentuate some dryness.

01 RETRO

Peachy, nude brown shade

02 GLAMOUR

Pale pink shade

03 REBEL

Bright, magenta pink shade

04 VINTAGE

Light, peachy nude shade

05 VIXEN

Tomato red shade.

This actually lasted on me for more than five hours provided I don’t eat oily foods. The darker shades also stained my lips even after they started to fade. Most of them are not patchy at all, except for 02 Glamour. I had to apply 3 layers in order for it to be really opaque. But by then, I could already feel something on my lips. (but it’s still manageable and it didn’t dry out my lips regardless) It doesn’t have any scent btw.

Overall, like I said, I have been using this and this has been my go to lip cream for quite some time. I highly recommend this to those who are looking for affordable, non-drying, matte lip creams. They have tons of wearable colors to choose from. You definitely can’t go wrong with these!
