Slime, fizz, smoke. They all have one thing in common. Science. I have told you before how much I adore science week at the kid’s school. Well, it’s not that time yet, but here I am talking about more science. Today’s post is going to teach you what to put in a Science Kit to give as a Christmas gift. Bug is addicted to mixing ingredients together to come up with a new potion or slime recipe. I figured she needed her own science kit, as to stop her from using our dinner ingredients as science experiments.
You know, I had to go as far as banning science experiments until after the holiday season, just to make sure I have enough flour and gelatin for my holiday baking needs. Bug, if you ever read this, it was never cool to run out of flour. Ever:) I will wake up every now and then to her, in the bathroom concocting some sort of experiment. And that is why today I am giving you my secret Christmas gift weapon:
The Greatest and Only Science Kit Ingredients You Will Ever Put Together.
The name of it could use some work, but what matters is that you can pick up these items for super cheap, and all of it is likely at your local supermarket. Let’s start with the basics, shall we?
Basic Science Kit:
Salt
Flour
Sugar
Vinager
Gelatin
Food Coloring
Liquid Soap
Non Reactive Bowls
Silicon Wisk
Silicone Spatula
Wax Paper
Zipper Bags for storing said experiments.

Putting Together A Fancy Science Kit
In order to display and wow, find an awesome basket or box. Wooden boxes with lids keep everything dry and safe, just hold the lid to the side of the box with ribbon and a pretty bow. Or, alternatively, you could wrap all of it in a huge box. This year’s science kit will be placed into a large tote and alongside all of the science ingredients will be a book to help guide her along. I have not decided on which, but the runners-up are:

A word of warning
If this is a gift for a child who does not live with you, a nice heads up for the parents will go along way. I love when educational meets gift, but this science kit will for sure bring in another factor: the mess. And you know how I feel about messes. I get all anxious and grumpy. But if I can plan ahead for them I feel a titch better.
