Well, it’s Fathers day weekend. That means that Matt and his BFF are out camping. And the kids and I have big plans this weekend. Plans to craft for Fathers Day. Plans to chill with my babies. So we went shopping and got our loot of craft supplies and junk food, came home and pulled out the Mattress topper we just got a few days ago and put on our jammies. A little bit of Auntie Karens Easy Oreo Popcorn, and a little Jonny Test on Netflix.
#Innex Mattress Topper For The Win
It never fails that when Matt is gone, sleep evades me. This weekend is no different. I am up until 2 am before I force myself to shut my eyes. Tonight the kids wanted to do a living room campout. We just got a new Innex Memory Foam Mattress Topper to try at a discounted price for our honest review and this was the perfect occasion.
Let me first say that they slept like little babies. As soon as I laid the mattress topper down, the were instantly laying on it and flailing around. They LOVE the soft cover that is on it and even begged me to leave the sheets off (no ma’am I did not). While I did not sleep on it, I did lay down for story time and it was quite nice. Not nice enough to sleep on without a mattress underneath but that is not the point. I can confidently say that this will be used for every living room campout.
Let’s Get Crafty
We also are doing some crafts, because we all love to make things in this house. The kids chose a stepping stone kit to decorate for our garden. We use and love kits called Made By Me. They are perfect for a day craft, with some help. Like for instance, this kit I did the mixing and pouring of the plaster, because, well… dust. But, aside from that, they are free to decorate the dang things however they chose. That is the best part of the whole project. Each kid shows their own individual personality and the outcome is so unique. Matthew wanted to place a Hotwheels and a toy plane but found that he did not press firmly and they only left an imprint. And Arianna found that placing the jewels and then placing the thick mixture over it may cause the jewel to be covered in plaster. #lessonlearned.
Netflix and… research?
I have had the T.V going all weekend. And, I am not sorry. It is my background noise. I think I could work well in a train station, maybe I should test that theory? I was binging on Grey’s Anatomy while researching things for the upcoming Giveaway, and doing a little design work. I love messing around with gimp, and sometimes I surprise myself!
I would have to say, between the yummy popcorn, and that wonderful new mattress topper, and the kid’s lovely fathers day gift crafts, we had a great and laid back weekend. Now I get the pleasure of making a yummy dinner and dessert for Matt ( Lord help me, I promise it won’t be Baking Soda Chicken).
