UGLYDOLLS Family Movie May Change Society

We live in a society where a person’s appearance is one of the first things, we judge them. It happens in every situation I can think of! It breaks my heart daily because I have been on both spectrums of the look’s status. I have been the beautiful girl who has turned every person’s head for double takes. Then I’ve become the person who everyone wants to avoid due to my being an overweight woman. That’s why I am a fan of the Movie Uglydolls and can’t wait for its release on May 3rd, 2019. I want my kids to learn the value of getting to know a person for who they are rather than what a person looks like.

About UGLYDOLLS Family Movie

This film stars many popular actors and actresses including, but definitely not limited to, Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, Nick Jonas, and Janelle Monae. It is an animated adventure in which the free-spirited UglyDolls confront what it means to be different, struggle with a desire to be loved, and ultimately discover who you truly are is what matters most.

A True Story About Society’s Judgement

While I have many stories, I could share about how the society and even family and friends have judged me about my whole weight issue, I’ve decided to not go into those details. Instead, I wanted to share a story my stepfather shared with me when I was a young girl. He told it to me when I was my youngest daughter’s age, around 6 or 7 years old, and it has never left me. Maybe it will stick with you too!

My stepfather is a wise man when it comes to how he makes and spends his money. He is frugal and quite modest about the money he has in his bank accounts. He has never flaunted the fact that he can buy what he wants.

Yet, he is a country man at the heart and soul of who he is. He shared with me the story of him buying his new truck.

One day he decided he was ready to buy a new truck with cash. He just went to the local dealerships in his overalls covered in dirt and shoes that were well worn straight from working on the tractors he fixed. He looked like a poor man through and through! He did this somewhat intentionally!

Not Looking Beyond, the Outer Appearance May Cost You More Than You’re Willing to Lose!

Every dealership he went into except for one ignored him because the sales people felt like he would have been a waste of time for them. (After working in two dealerships, I can testify to how this is definitely true even today! That’s not singing our society any praises if we still haven’t changed our ways from 1986 on this issue!) The one dealership that treated him well had a more expensive truck than what he typically would have paid for a truck, but because they provided him with excellent service, they got his business!

He went back to the dealerships that ignored him the next day all dressed up and was treated completely different! He got superb service. He took the time to show each of the sales people the sale they missed out on because of their ignorance.

He did this because he felt he could teach the young chaps a lesson on how to treat people correctly. He wanted them to remember that judging a person by how they look can cost them more than they are willing to lose. He told me to never judge a person by their outside appearance or by first impressions. He installed in me one of the most important lessons I could have learned in my life. To this day, I still have a knack for connecting with people almost instantly on a deeper level because I look beyond the outer shells.

UglyDolls May Be What Changes Society

I believe that the UglyDolls movie is going to help whoever watches it to at least hear this lesson. I hope that it sinks in because I feel everyone can benefit from learning it. I know I’m putting a lot of faith into a movie. However, look how much an impact family movies like Cinderella, Frozen, and many others have had on our kids.
