Robinsons Place Manila: Fashion & Food at The Grand Manila Sale

In celebration of the 445th founding anniversary of the City of Manila, Robinsons Place Manila will be holding a 2-week long celebration through The Grand Manila Sale! From June 24 to July 3, 2016, shoppers can enjoy exclusive promos and exciting deals from Robinsons Department Store, Robinsons Supermarket, Robinsons Appliances, Handyman, Toys "R" Us and select Robinsons Specialty Stores. There are discounts of up to 50% off to be had, buy 1 take 1 promos, as well as gift with purchase, among other exciting deals.

Apart from all the shopping, mall goers also have an exciting roster of food selections to choose from among the many restaurants, new and old alike, at Robinsons Place Manila. And to give you a sneak peek, Robinsons had selected a small group of bloggers to join its Bloggers Fashion & Food Crawl, where I was lucky to be a part of.

So today, let me tour you at Robinsons Place Manila as you join this fun-filled fashion and food crawl!

1st Stop: TIM HO WAN

Location: Level 1 Midtown Wing

Related Post: Tim Ho Wan, Hong Kong's Dim-Sum Specialists

To start off the tour, we first had brunch at this famed dimsum house from Hong Kong. We enjoyed the usual favorites like the Baked Bun with BBQ Pork, along with some steamed dumplings. We also sampled three of the Chef's Specials -- the deep fried green chive and shrimp dumplings, the tofu with pork floss, and the Hong Kong-style curry fish balls with pork rinds.

2nd Stop: MR. PIZZA

Location: Level 1 Pedro Gil Wing

Review: My first taste of Korea's #1 pizza chain at Mr. Pizza

To continue our lunch, we headed to Korea's number 1 pizza chain where we were treated to unusual yet outstanding pizza creations. We also enjoyed the live pizza tossing show at the restaurant's open kitchen, and even got to experience tossing pizza ourselves! Well, I don't think I have any future with pizza-making though, so I'll just stick to eating them. Kekeke! Be sure to check out my restaurant review for Mr. Pizza.

3rd Stop: DAISO JAPAN

Location: Level 1 Padre Faura Wing

To take a break from all the eating, we went to Daiso which is actually one of my favorite stores. You can practically buy anything and everything here -- from imported snacks, party needs, cooking and tablewares, stationeries, cosmetics and clothing, among others. Premium items are priced at P188 and 288, while regular items go for P88. But since it's sale time, there are even P10-priced items! What a steal!

4th Stop: ST. MARC CAFE

Location: Level 1 Padre Faura Wing

Just a few steps away from Daiso is St. Marc Cafe, a specialty Japanese dessert cafe famous for their chococro (chocolate croissant). Of course, being at the home of chococro, we had to sample one. And here, we tried their newest offering, the Banana Walnut Chococro which is a perfect sweet perk-me-upper afternoon snack.

5th Stop: ROBINSONS SPECIALTY STORES

Location: Level 1 Midtown Wing

Not exactly a full stop, but our group got to pass by three of Robinsons' specialty stores -- Dorothy Perkins, Topshop and Topman, all of which are offering enticing promos and discounts even up to P700 off! So if you're a fan of any of these boutiques, it's best to take advantage of this sale.

6th Stop: ROBINSONS DEPARTMENT STORE

Location: Level 1 to 3 Midtown Wing

We then headed to the department store where a lot of items are on sale. While there are quite a lot of fashion brands here, we decided to check out Robinsons' in-house clothing brands -- Liberte which offers trendy day-to-day fashion pieces for the young and chic, and Stella which carries more sophisticated apparel for the power-dressing women.

Of course, I couldn't help but shop a new outfit for myself. Haha! I felt like Stella has more of my style (and size) than Liberte. Oh, and it's also nice how most of Stella's clothing pieces are loose-fitting. It's only here that my size is small. Thanks for the confidence boost, Stella! v(°∇^*)⌒☆

7th Stop: HANDYMAN

Location: Level 3 Pedro Gil Wing

One of my favorite Robinsons affiliate is Handyman! It's a haven for all things that concern home, garden and office improvement. They even have an aisle dedicated for pet supplies and trinkets, which my sister and I are always grateful for. But on this trip, my eyes directly went to the small kitchen appliance, since I'm actually in the market for some. And of course, as a foodie and self-proclaimed home-cook, I also can't help but ogle at the discounted and buy-1-take-1 cooking pans. One can't have too many pans, I tell 'ya!

8th Stop: YABU HOUSE OF KATSU

Location: Level 1 Midtown Wing

Related Post: Revisiting Yabu the House of Katsu (2013 Edition)

Although we did a lot of walking and shopping, we were actually still pretty full from all the food we feasted upon throughout the day. But since it's Yabu we're talking about here, we just couldn't pass up the chance to try some of their new offerings like the Crispy Ebi Aioli and the Ebi Patty Set. We also had a few more of their new combination sets and donburi, but I'll have to save that for a separate restaurant review to be posted very soon!

9th Stop: IPPUDO

Location: Level 1 Midtown Wing

Review: The New Hakata-Style Nikusoba at Ippudo!

At this point, I was already so full that I just wanted to roll to the next restaurant. Haha! But having tried Ippudo before, I just knew that what they'll let us sample would be worth the extra flab space. And right I was! We got to try the ramen house's newest offerings, the Hakata-Style Nikusoba and the Wagyu Maki Onigiri. Both were very worth pushing my tummy space for! They also warrant a separate food review post, so stay tuned for that.

Wrapping it up...

The 6 hours we spent on the Bloggers Fashion & Food Crawl was both long and short. At normal circumstances, I wouldn't be crazy enough to sample five restaurants in just a few hours. But with the scrumptious dishes we had from very capable restaurants, I have no regrets whatsoever and would be more than happy to do it all over again! All five of them are dining options that will surely leave your palate and tummy more than satisfied before, or after shopping.

And speaking of shopping, make sure to take advantage of The Grand Manila Sale happening at Robinsons Place Manila until July 3 (Sunday). With lots of fashion and lifestyle stores to shop from, you're sure to find something that will tickle your fancy (if you don't already have the need to shop for them).

Robinsons Rewards Card Members also have the privilege to earn 2x points and an additional 5% to 10% off from June 24 to July 3 from 10AM to 2PM from participating affiliate stores. But if you don't already own one, don't fret as the Robinsons Rewards Card is available for only P100.

A grand raffle draw will also be held with preloaded Robinsons Rewards Card with P1,000 points at stake
