The Fern Citadel (West Wood)

In the fast growing metropolitan City of Bangalore, There are numerous 3 star hotels but Very few manage to live up to the expectations and stay consistent. The Fern Citadel is one such place that has managed to set itself apart from the rest. Along with 118 Luxurious and well equipped rooms, 9 Banquet Halls, they have additional facilities like gym, rooftop pool and home theatre. Though Impeccable Quality Standard speaks for itself and does not need a lot of advertisement to attract customers, in today’s World where marketing is a craze all brands need some form of publicity to establish itself. It is due to this some people might not have heard of The Fern Citadel Hotel despite it being around for quite some time. Nevertheless it is popular around the area. Centrally located on Sheshadri Road off Anand Rao circle, Restaurant is known as West Wood.

Food- Impressive Presentation. Excellent variety. Loved the appetizing starters. Tandoori Kalmi Kabab was Incredible. The Tangdi (leg piece) was stuffed with minced chicken. Definitely recommended. Reshmi Tikka was remarkable. Low on spice and extremely flavorful. Sheek Kebab was fantastic. The succulent meat melts in your mouth. Couldn’t stop munching on the delicious Crispy CornMutton Rogan Josh Gravy was outstanding. It was Cooked in tasty masala, imparting perfect texture. It reminded me of my recent trip to Kashmir. Cheese naan is superb. Fluffy and soft Indian bread with molten cheese in every bite.  Desserts are brilliant. Aside from the regular Indian Sweets, my favourite was the Caramel Pudding and Beetroot Halwa. Chef’s Signature dish was phenomenal.  However the biryani was ordinary and can be improved. Cutlets were nothing exceptional yet above average. Another suggestion is that some fancy mocktails need to be added in the menu.  They do have a proper bar for alcoholic drinks. (8/10)

Ambiance– Amazing. Nothing spectacular yet simple and elegant. Marvellous view from the top floors. Unique design because instead of having a separate secluded area, the restaurant is a like a wide/ large alley right in the middle with easy access from rooms. Nice Lighting. Spacious arrangement. Beautiful Interiors.  Comfortable sofas and chairs for seating. Great Air conditioning. Calm and quiet atmosphere. (7/10)

Service- Exemplary.  Wonderful Welcome. Splendid Hospitality. Well trained, quick, attentive, Courteous and efficient staff. Preparation time is quite fast. Hotel Valet Parking is available. Reservation recommended. There are timings for lunch and dinner. All day snacks are also available as well round the clock. (8/10)

Pricing- Moderately High. Priced at around 500+ taxes, it is Much less than other similar buffet spreads. Ala carte menu is economical. Pocket friendly with value for money. A memorable meal and delightful fine dining experience overall. Will Surely visit again. (7/10)
