The Best Beaches near Hyderabad That Make Your Weekends Even More Rewarding

Hyderabad is not a coastal city. Hence she does not have a Beach of her own. Nevertheless, there are a number of splendid beaches to her proximity. So if you are looking for beaches near Hyderabad, there you do have a number of opportunities to explore.

Manginapudi Beach

Lying close to the town of Machilipatnam, and approximately 350 km away from Hyderabad, this beach gives a respite to those looking for a weekend, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. A port in the yesteryears, the specialty of this beach lies in its black sand. Its shallow level of water makes it ideal for swimming. If you are a seafood lover, then make sure to hit the shacks of the beach, where they are prepared by the locals. The famous Panduranga Swami temple and the Dattasram are located nearby. So if you are a bit spiritually inclined, then you can find your food for the soul, as well. Ideally, visit the beach during February or March, when Krishna Utsav, the beachside festival is celebrated all with all its splendor.

Kakinada Beach

Located about 450 km from Hyderabad, this beach is located in the Kakinada beach. When you are looking for some truly relaxing time while exploring a brand new place, then the Kakinada beach fits the bill like no one. Tucked into the district of Godavari in Andhra Pradesh, it has some amazing tourist destinations like the Voting Wildlife Sanctuary, Hope islands and the Godavari delta to its proximity. Don’t forget to try the seafood and the local dishes to satisfy your gastronomical journey. Outdoor sports lovers can also try beach volley. The distance between the beach and Hyderabad is about 493 km. You can reach there either by bus or by train.

Bheemunipatnam Beach

Though not essentially one of the closet beaches near Hyderabad, Bheemunipatnam, or Bhimli has a distinct character that attracts thousands of people during the weekend. The breathtaking background, coupled with the buzzing shores add to its beauty. Wake up to the fresh smell of the sea, grab your significant other’s hand, and take a rejuvenating walk across the shore. You can also climb the lighthouse and immerse yourself to the stunning beachside view. Or if you feel tad adventurous, then the watersports are there for you to try. Also, go for scuba diving, snorkeling, water-skiing, boating or kayaking, anything that catches your fancy. Or you can simply spend your evening in the confluence of the Gosthani River and the sea. So if you like a fun-filled beach holiday, the Bheemunipatnam beach will have a lot to offer. Bheemili is 628 km away from Hyderabad. You can take a 1-hour flight to Visakhapatnam and reach there by hiring a cab. The beach is approximately 40 km away from the city. So if you are enjoying an extended weekend, then you might want to consider a city tour, as well.

Vodarevu Beach

Since there are no beaches in Hyderabad, Vodarevu, which is just 300 km awa5 from the city, is a favorite spot for all to relax and rejuvenate. It is quite close to Chirala and Suryalanka beach. Guntur and Vijayawada are the nearest towns. The sandy golden beach, all lined with coconut plantations make for a breathtakingly refreshing view. If you love the sound of sea waves and the feel of salty air, then this can be the perfect weekend option for you.  Also consider hiking the lighthouse, which is on the beach front. Enjoy the serene sunrise and sunset by the beach, or you can also go for boating, swimming, and fishing.

Uppada Beach

Some 10 km away from the town of Kakinada and 60 km away from Rajahmundry, lies the sun-kissed beach of Uppada. The wide shore, the white sand of the sea, as well as the pristine water adds to its majestic beauty. Also, the very gradual inclination of the shore to the water makes it a very safe beach for all. If you are an outdoor sports enthusiast, then you can enjoy different activities. Try shore activities like playing cricket, football, and volley. You can also go for trekking or jogging for some fun and mental detoxification. The local fishermen are quite welcoming. You can even join them for adventurous deep-water fishing. Though there is no beach in Hyderabad, the Uppala beach is a great place to visit. The sunrise and sunset are also worth a watch. Plus, there is a well-maintained park nearby. If you love having seafood, then the local restaurants lining up along the shore are the best places to visit. There is also a Weaver’s village near the beach, as well as a fishery station. So if you are looking for a destination, which is worth every penny, then this is the beach to give a try.
