Serangoon Pasar Malam | Where The Best UFO Oyster Cake Is Lost and Found – Last 2 Days Left, Don’t Miss It!!!

Chanced upon a pasar malam at Serangoon Central recently. It is located near to Nex shopping mall along the roadside. As usual, scanning along the street for any good foods. Stepping into a pasar malam, you’ll noticed many foods from different regions such as Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Spain, Middle East etc. It was a fruitful night. Besides all-time street food at pasar malam, I have also found many local food gem that were lost and found in Singapore. Definitely not the usual pasar malam that you visit! The food list, but not limited to:

  • Traditional Oyster Cake (Teochew Meat Puff)
  • Tu Tu Kueh
  • Malt Candy
  • Ting Ting Candy
  • Otah Otah
  • Ramly burger
  • Nasi goreng
  • Mee goreng
  • Ice sticks
  • Candy Floss
  • Popcorns
  • Cup Corn With Butter
  • Churros
  • Pancakes
  • Kebabs
  • Takoyaki
  • Okonomiyaki

This pancake stall is interesting. Besides traditional pancake, they also come in different flavours such as nutella, cookies and cream, bandung, salted egg, ondeh ondeh, banana split and more!

All-time pasar malam street food, Kebab.

Taiwan Street Food Baked Potatoes with cheese and more.

Fried Potatoes Spiral, contains real potato and tasted like potato chips. Choose your topping from nacho cheese, mayonanaise, BBQ or chilli.

Singapore traditional pasar malam street food, Tu Tu Kueh comes with flavours like chocolate, peanut, coconut or order it plain.

Malay street foods, nasi goreng, mee goreng, fried chicken wings and more! (Right Picture)

There are a couple of churro stalls here!

Traditional ice stick, popcorns and CANDY FLOSS.

This is the lost and found Traditional Oyster Cake. Each piece of oyster cake is generously filled with well-marinated minced meat EXCEPT vegetables. There are 6 fillings to choose from: Oysters, Prawn, Chopped Squids, Crabstick, Scallop or Vegetables.

Price for Oysters, Prawn, Chopped Squids, Crabstick at S$3 each.
Price for Scallop at S$3.50 each.
Price for Vegetables with baby ikan bilis at S$1.50 each.

The Teochew Meat Puff that made me go crazy to queue for at least 45 minutes. Well, I’m not the most crazy one. Spotted someone bought 25 pieces at one go. Do not underestimate the size of this UFO. It is bigger than what you see on the screen now. Really mad love over this UFO oyster cake. Beneath thin crispy crust, the minced meat and diced mushroom is very well marinated and is not so salty. It also comes with chinese celery, do request a special order if you don’t eat it. The uncle is generous with the ingredients, you get 2 pieces of fat oysters for oyster cake and 1 whole piece of scallop for scallop cake. Wondering how to differentiate the different fillings? You can easily spot by the peanut pattern dressed on the UFO cover. Peanuts that were clustered together at a corner is oyster. Two peanuts on 4 UFO corner is scallop. And lastly, ikan bilis spread equally is vegetable. If you have missed this chance, visit their Facebook on the next pasar malam or visit another hawker stall selling Fu Zhou Oyster Cake at Berseh Food Centre.

All-time picks for Otah Otah which I have discovered in the last pasar malam at Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar 2016. It still taste as good as it is.

This is one of the long lost childhood street foods, Malt Candy and Ting Ting Candy. No longer do we get to hear any “ting ting ting” from our neighbourhood anymore.

Mini fun fair that is popular among family.
