As newly appointed sub-inspector he flared in this Film which is still classified as Bollywood Classic in terms of performances.
Jaane Bhi Do Yaar (1983):
The hilarious satirical comedy film that is till today is a rib tickler. Om Puri played the character of a drunkard in this film which was based on two photographers witnessing a murder.
As lead Actor in the negative role of ‘Bapji’, Om Puri thoroughly convinced the audience that his acting skills weren’t just limited to supporting roles. Opposite the powerful Sunny Deol, Om Puri looked equally nasty.
Pyar To Hona Hi Tha (1998):
Remember the Ajay Devgan & Kajol Starer romedy movie? Om Puri had played the strict inspector ‘Khan’ who time and again ate chane & said ” Chane Khaoge?”
Singh is King (2008):
‘Rangeela’, the loyal friend of Akshay Kumar in the film. Om Puri displayed great comic timing and the duo brought to life many brilliantly done comic scenes in the film.
The Hundred-Foot Journey (2014):
This Hollywood movie starring Helen Mirren, Om Puri, Manish Dayal and Charlotte Le Bon was based on an aspiring Indian chef in France who trains under a tough restaurant owner, Helen and then goes on to become a Michelin star awarded chef. Om Puri played the protagonist loving father and also shared some great chemistry moments with Helen Mirren.
