Eating out, movie watching and malling are all fun, but can get pretty boring if done ever so frequently. For the boyf and I, our weekly dates would usually consist of stuffing our faces full a few times, window shopping, bookstore visits, then chilling at a cafe. You can actually say that this itinerary is our default should we not have anything special planned for that weekend.
While we still find joy in this routine, it's definitely a lot more fun to mix things up at times and try something more novel. And for this particular weekend, we were off with friends to channel our inner Katniss Everdeen at Kodanda Archery Range.
Kodanda is not new to me. However, while I've already heard of it back when they still only had one branch in Makati Cinema Square, I still haven't personally tried out archery at their range. Today though, Kodanda Archery Range already has four branches, with their newest one located at the second floor of the Cyber & Fashion Mall in Eastwood, Quezon City.
The boyf and I have both enjoyed archery for a few times now since we've been together, though we don't do it as often as we'd like. In the past, the boyf even considered picking up this sport as a hobby. It didn't materialize though. Haha! But that doesn't mean we're not interested. We can still remember the good vibes shooting arrows and getting more in touch with our inner focus that archery made us experience. So when we were planning this visit, we can't help but get really excited!
Archery is for everyone.
It was back in college when I first tried archery as an activity. I first thought that only pros and aspiring pros can enjoy the sport. But I was proven wrong. Anyone, despite the age, height, weight and fitness level, can actually enjoy archery as long as the person can hold a bow and arrow.
Just bring yourself.
Free use of bows (different weight & sizes)
All the necessary gear is provided
Shoot from 5-meter, 8-meter, or 10-meter distance
Obligatory photo before the session starts
If you decide to try out archery, Kodanda offers its range for only P590 per hour. This rate already includes the use of equipment, unlimited arrows, safety gear, target paper, and even comes with the basic how-to instructions. You only have to bring yourself, and a camera or your phone for picture-taking. v(*’-^*)-☆

If you get it, we can be best of friends! （○゜ε＾○）v
The archery range at Kodanda can accommodate 10 players at a time. Each player gets 5 arrows per set, and you'll have to wait for the others to finish shooting before everyone can retrieve the arrows at the same time. The staff at Kodanda blows a whistle to signal everyone to get ready, to start shooting, to retrieve the arrows (after placing back the bow on the rack), and to do it all over again.
We first started shooting at the 5-meter mark. After getting used to it, we moved to shooting at the 8-meter mark. And finally, a few sets before we ended our session, we tried our skills at the 10-meter mark (which seemed and felt pretty far, btw). ∑(⌒◇⌒；)
Although we only had a one-hour session, it actually didn't feel like an hour. It felt longer! Which is a good thing. I wasn't able to keep track of how many sets we already played, but it seemed like we had a lot. And for the rate Kodanda offers, I can really say that it's worth it and sulit!
And if you can visit any of Kodanda's branches from 12PM to 3PM on weekdays, then take advantage of their March Madness promo where you can enjoy 50% off their hourly rate. Yup, you'll get to enjoy an hour of archery fun for only P295! This is super sulit!
Should you be interested to take archery lessons this summer, Kodanda also has their Summer Archer Program where you can enjoy 10 sessions for only P5,000. Available every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 1PM to 2PM from April 17 to May 8, 2017.
