Flirting 101 with San Mig Light

When it comes to Flirting, I may not look like someone with the authority and expertise. However, modesty aside, I've had a good number of suitors and have kept a good number of long-term relationships. So in a sense, it must mean I know something, right?

Whether I truly know tips and tricks or not, my current boyfriend of seven years is the only one who can attest to that. Haha!

Though I have a lot of friends who are in amazing relationships, I also don't have a shortage of friends who are single. Whether it's by choice, by chance, too complicated, or what not, it's still nice to mingle. Doing so doesn't necessarily mean that you're looking to be in a relationship. It's a good chance to meet new friends as well, or to extend your network and make your circle a little bigger.

You may take these with a grain of salt, but here are a few of what I personally would consider as my general guide to flirting.

1. Go out there

If you're single, the first thing to do is to actually be ready to mingle. Join your friends for a night out, be open to meet your co-workers' friends, attend your cousin's party, or sign up for a class you've always wanted to try. There are a lot of channels to meet new people, and you should take advantage of them.

2. Connect with people

Being "there" isn't enough if you want your circle to grow. Don't be afraid to strike a conversation with your cousin's friend at her party. Try reconnecting with an old schoolmate too if you will. Or if you're at the club, don't be afraid to talk to people (of course, as long as they're not creep candidates). The key in creating a connection with others is communication.

3. Show your color

Probably the most important thing for me on this list is showing one's true color. Don't pretend to be someone you're not. If you're into classical music, don't deny it and pretend that you're fond of hip-hop just because the guy you're talking to is a fan of the genre. Don't be afraid to show your brand of humor, to speak how you usually do so, and to act your true self. If you just do you and you two hit it off, then it can be a start of something beautiful. If he's not interested, then you're better off with someone more compatible with you whether as a friend or as a lover.

4. Have a trick or two up your sleeve

Of course, just being yourself is already enough. However, if you want to take it to the next level, you can learn a trick or two and incorporate it in how you usually carry yourself.

Some of my favorites are:
  • Lean a bit forward when you're having a conversation. This shows you're enthusiastic and interested either on the topic or in the person.
  • Look him straight in the eye for a few times. Just don't overdo it or it can get a bit creepy.
  • Be a bit mysterious. It's okay to share about yourself, but don't give all the details. It's fun to get to know and surprise each other.
  • If possible, check his interests from his social media accounts. It might seem stalker-ish, but you can pick a few things you have in common and come equipped the next time you hang out.

5. Check out San Mig Light's new TVC

Recently, San Mig Light which is a popular brand and variant of beer by San Miguel, rolled out its new TV commercial with new endorsers Tom Rodriguez and Joseph Marco. And it's a fun one, where you might even be able to pick up a few tips from. Watch it here!

The video includes 5 signals women can give to let guys know they're interested. And among it, the last 3 are my favorites -- turning your body towards the guy, glancing at him (and not hiding it), and lastly, approaching him. I know, I know, my style seems pretty aggressive and straight-forward. Haha! ∗˚(* ˃̤൬˂̤ *)˚∗ Confidence is sexy though!

Anyway, if you feel the jitters, San Mig Light can help you loosen up and become more comfortable mingling and showing your color, for longer. With only 100 calories per 330mL serving, you're sure to look good, feel good and meet more. #MahabahabangInuman
