What Do You Need to Make Banana Peanut Butter Pancakes

If you make pancakes often you will have all the ingredients in your pantry and fridge. Here’s what you’ll need to make these fluffy pancakes:

  • Flour: I have only tried this recipe using all-purpose flour. You can substitute whole wheat flour easily.
  • Peanut butter: Melt the peanut butter in the microwave and let it cool a bit, then add to the ingredients.
  • Banana: Banana adds sweetness and flavor to the pancakes. Just be sure to use ripe bananas.
  • Baking powder: Most pancake recipes call for baking powder as a leavening agent to achieve a fluffy texture.
  • Butter: Butter gives tenderness to the texture of pancakes.
  • Salt: You will find a small amount of salt in most pancake recipes.
  • Egg: You will need one or more eggs, depending on the number of pancakes you make.
  • Vanilla extract: Vanilla adds sweetness and flavor.

Instructions

  • Always make sure to preheat your cooking surface before you start.
  • In a large bowl put 1 1/2 cup of white all-purpose flour. Add sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk them until combined.
  • Peel the banana and mash it. Do this with the back of a fork. It’s best to use a ripe banana. The ripe bananas are easy to mash with the fork.
  • Whisk egg in another bowl. Add melted butter to the egg mixture. Then add milk and peanut butter and gently whisk them together.
  • Pour your wet ingredients into the dry ingredients bowl and mix until just combined.
  • Set heat to medium and spray pancake pan with oil. You can use a measuring cup or ladle to pour batter into the pan.
  • When you see bubbles on the surface, flip over the pancake and cook the other side. When the other side becomes slightly brown, your pancake is ready.

Tips and Tricks of Making Banana Peanut Butter Pancakes

  • For light, fluffy and delicious pancakes make sure you measure flour correctly and use a measuring cup.
  • Sift dry ingredients to avoid big lumps in the batter.
  • For having the same size and shape pancakes, you should use a pancake pan. With these pans, your pancakes will be completely circular and have a beautiful appearance.
