I am currently in a season of my life where there seems to be a lot of stress and new things going on. So I decided to practice a little bit of self-care by creating this Stress Stabilizing Steamer with adaptogens. Adaptogens such as maca and cordyceps mushroom help to restore overall balance and functioning of the body as a whole without impacting the balance of an individual organ or body system. Adaptogens can be stimulating or relaxing and may help improve focus and cognitive function, and supports the immune system as well.

The Ingredients For The Stress Stabilizing Steamer

  • Full Fat Coconut Milk. I like to use the Thai Kitchen brand. There are some brands of coconut milk that don’t taste the greatest but the Thai Kitchen brand, I have found to taste the best.
  • Cinnamon. It’s the cinnamon in the Stress Stabilizing Steamer that gives this beverage its’s signature taste.
  • Maca Powder. The Maca in this recipe can help to reduce anxiety and help improve your mood overall. Maca delivers clean, stable energy with no caffeine jitters.
  • Cordyceps Mushrooms. The light and earthy mushrooms featured in this recipe are known for their energy-boosting superpower. Cordyceps is a type of fungi that is considered an adaptogen.

Adaptogens like cordyceps, are medicinal herbs that have stimulant properties to counteract the physical effects of stress like the harm inflicted on the neurological, endocrine, and immune systems.

How to Make This Stress Stabilizing Steamer

This Stress Stabilizing Steamer is a breeze to make. Especially first thing in the morning or even as a way to deal with the stress of your day in the middle of the afternoon. Just simply warm the coconut milk and transfer it to a blender with the rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth and creamy. 

Pour into a mug and savor this luscious beverage. Take some time to breathe and focus on healing energy while you allow the adaptogenic herbs to reduce your stress drivers and set you up for resilience. 

Can You Make This Stress Stabilizing Steamer Iced?

Though I think that this drink is best consumed warm, you very well likely can make this iced as well. Just allow it to cool and pour it over ice.

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups full-fat canned coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp. maca powder
  • 1 tbsp. cordyceps mushroom powder
  • 1 tbsp. maple syrup
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Warm the coconut milk and water on the stovetop. Once warm, move to a blender and add in the other ingredients. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  2. Pour into a mug and enjoy!

Notes

You can swap out the Maca or the Cordyceps if you desire with other adaptogenic herbs such as Holy Basil (Tulsi), Ashwagandha, or Milk Thistle.
