Soft and moist classic vanilla Cupcakes dyed red, white and blue for the 4th of July. The fun cupcakes are a delicious way to celebrate this holiday weekend. The cupcakes are made like a classic moist vanilla Cupcake, but adding layers of red and blue food coloring to the batter makes these cupcakes a fun 4th of July treat. All topped with a sweet and creamy Vanilla Buttercream Frosting. Decorate with some 4th of July themed sprinkles for a fun summer treat.

The cupcakes are made with a classic vanilla cupcake batter. If you are short on time, you can also use premade cupcake mix and dye it red and blue. Divide the cupcake batter into three bowls and leave one without any food coloring. Add red food coloring to one bowl, mixing until fully red. Add blue food coloring to one bowl, mixing until fully bowl. Layer the cupcake batter into prepared lined cupcake pans, with red, white and blue cupcake batter. Swirl the batter with a knife. Bake until the cupcakes come out clean with a toothpick.

For the creamy vanilla buttercream frosting, in a large bowl with a mixer, beat softened butter with powdered sugar until creamy. Beat in milk and vanilla extract, adding in more milk as needed to thin. After the cupcakes have cooled down completely, either pipe frosting onto each cupcake with a piping bag. Or frost the frosting onto the cupcakes with a knife. Decorate the cupcakes with sprinkles and refrigerate until ready to serve.
