Our Pesto DOP is made only with the best ingredients following the authentic Ligurian recipe and it is DOP (Protected Designation Origin) because it uses plenty of DOP Genoese basil together with extra virgin olive oil, pinenuts and cheese and not only it is perfect for a quick, tasty pasta, but pesto is also an ingredient for plenty more recipes, pesto is a very versatile ingredient, from fish to meat, it can be used everywhere.

Plenty of commercial pesto don't use pinenuts replacing them with other cheaper nuts or uses peas or other green substitute instead of the more expensive basil, however, the replacement affect and change the flavour, the pesto won't taste the same.

Pesto is now made all over Italy, but there is only one DOP version. Our pesto is gluten and wheat free, no need to pay extra for a gluten free version, its recipe do not include any, therefore suitable for every one.

When making pasta with pesto, get a small bowl, add a couple of tea spoon per person, pour some boiling water from the pasta pan and add some more extra virgin olive oil and mix. Once the pasta is ready, pour the pesto and toss.
