Delish Classic Vegan Caramel Apples

Classic Vegan Caramel Apples

These delish vegan Caramel apples are just that delish! I have always loved a good caramel Apple. But to be honest, I much prefer a vegan caramel apple dip to actually covering the caramel apples.

It’s just so hard to eat a caramel covered apple and much easier to dip it.

I like to make these every fall and then with the leftover caramel I make these amazing vegan twix bars.

This caramel is not hard to make and makes such a rich delicious caramel.

It can be hard to get caramel to stick to apples. The key in this is to make sure you get off all the wax you possible can from the apples.

In order to get the wax off you want to soak the apples in hot water with some lemon juice and baking soda. Let that soak for a while and then scrub the wax off with a towel or brush.

Once the wax is off then you are able to coat the apples.

It’s best to dip the apples and twice and stick in the fridge.

The caramel still seems to slide to the bottom but should still coat the apple.

What do you need for these vegan caramel apples?

  • dark brown sugar
  • vegan butter
  • vegan sweetened condensed milk
  • dark corn syrup
  • maple syrup
  • vanilla extract
  • salt
  • 12 apples

How do you make them?

Take a 3 qt saucepan and combine all ingredients, stir with a wooden spoon until mixed then add a candy thermometer.

Stir on medium-low heat until the caramel is at 238 degrees, then remove from heat.

Let the caramel cool until about 190 degrees.

I would highly recommend removing the wax from your apples.

You can soak apples in warm water with some lemon juice and baking soda. Let that soak then scrub the apples with a rough towel to remove the wax.

hen place the apples in the fridge while you’re waiting for the caramel to cool.

Line a cookie sheet that fits in your fridge with either a silpat or wax paper and set aside.

Stick popsicle sticks or sticks made for caramel apples in the middle of the apple.

Then once your caramel gets to 190 degrees dip the apples one at a time.

Then place the apple on the lined cookie sheet and stick in the fridge until ready to eat.
