We offer a wide variety of high quality teas from the world's finest tea-growing areas. We offer these teas at affordable prices, so that you can enjoy an ever-widening selection as part of your daily living. In 1997, Dorothy and Robert Shern, began importing premium loose tea leaves in hopes to reintroduce the interest and benefits that come with enjoying tea. Originally from the Philadelphia area, they were quite familiar with the history that went behind America’s love of coffee. As a result of the Boston Tea Party, it was considered ‘unpatriotic’ to drink tea. Therefore, Americans trended towards coffee, forgetting about tea. Dorothy and Robert set up shop to change that thought process, and bring tea and tea education back to the lives of everyday Americans. They wanted people to know things like, ‘premium leaves are picked by choosing the top two leaves and the bud’, and ‘hand picked leaves make the highest quality tea versus mechanically picked’. These tips helped educate consumers on how to choose leaves for themselves. They started importing premium tea leaves, purchased only from the best lands. Those countries are China, Japan, India, Sri Lanka and Nepal. The sold their leaves and delightful blends locally, at first. As the demand grew, they expanded their leaf selection, by adding herbals and and organics. In 2000 they launched their online store, focusing mostly on traditional and custom blends. In 2009, the second generation of the company began. With this addition, new ideas and new blends came into play. Second generation was very intrigued with the endless health benefits that comes from drinking tea. Health benefits such as, tea contains antioxidants, tea has less caffeine than coffee, tea is a natural diuretic, and the list goes on! Our mission as an online store is to offer the highest quality, premium loose tea leaves and herbal blends, and bring them from the tea regions of the world to the comfort of your home and your teapot.
