German Red Cabbage

German Red Cabbage


1 medium onion, sliced
1 medium apple, sliced
1 medium head Red Cabbage, shredded
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Directions

1. Heat olive oil over medium heat in a dutch oven. Add onion and apple and cook until onion is tender. This will take about 5-10 minutes.

2. Stir in Cabbage and remaining ingredients. Cook, covered until cabbage is tender, stirring occasionally. This will take about 1 hour.
