Which Gold Investments Performed Best in 2022?

Which Gold investments performed best in 2022? And which are likely to be the most profitable in the year ahead?

Let’s explore and find some answers to those questions.

Gold Trading Prices Have Fallen Slightly

In January 2022, gold was trading for $1804.00. On December 4, 2022, it was trading for $1798.00. That’s a loss of about .033 percent.

That might be a small loss, but it is a loss, nonetheless. If you invested in gold bullion or coins at the start of 2022, you lost money.

Gold Stock Prices and Mutual Investment Funds Have Also Fallen About 1 Percent

Gold Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) have also fallen an average of 1 percent in the calendar year 2022. That is not a major loss, it is still a loss. The same is true for most gold-based mutual funds – investments that invest in a group of companies that trade in gold. The question is, do you want to make a gold investment that is making money, or losing it?

What Investments Offer Better Returns?

If you are a regular reader of this blog or if you are already an active gold investor, you know the answer to that question . . .

Gold scrap promises a much higher return on every dollar you invest

This is true because there are many investments you can make in Gold Scrap that offer you far higher returns. Your simple strategy is to buy gold scrap, have it tested by Specialty Metals Smelters and Refiners, and have us recycle it for you. It is not uncommon to realize a return on investment that is 10 percent, 20 percent, or even more.

Granted, it takes a little ingenuity and legwork to locate and buy scrap. But if you do that work, you are going to realize a much higher profit than you will by buying coins, bullion, or even gold stocks, all of which are tied to current trading prices.

Example: You bought a gold coin in January 2022, and now you will lose about 1 percent of your investment if you choose to sell it today. That is not going to happen if you invest wisely in scrap.

What kinds of gold scrap offer you this higher return?

  • Electronic scrap, including computers, electronic devices from cars, and even small devices like smartphones, digital cameras, and remote controls.

  • Industrial scrap, including sweepings from jewelry factories, plating scrap from plating companies, and used sputtering targets that outlived their useful life in electroplating applications.

  • Old jewelry, even gold-plated costume jewelry, which can offer an outsize profit over what you paid.

  • Gold-filled eyeglass frames, which can yield a profit of 25 percent or more over the prices you bought them for.

So Will You Invest to Make about 1 Percent, or to Make 10 percent or more?

Of course, that is up to you. But if we were in your position, we would opt to make more money, not less, from our investments.

And doing that is easy. When you have collected gold scrap from the sources we suggested just above, simply call our gold refiners at 800-426-2344 and say, “I have gold scrap . . . can you help me reclaim the gold it contains?”

We have been doing that for thousands of our customers over the years, and we can do it for you.
