Mark Cuban, who often is on “Shark tank”, made an investment of $1 million in an AI Startup

Mark Cuban, who is an American businessman and investor, the owner of Dallas Mavericks franchise who often is on “Shark tank” among all the investors and more often denies to invest with other entrepreneurs and investors. This time, he has made a soft drift and changes his outlook with the investment of $1 million in Artificial Intelligence (AI) Startup. Cuban found AI worthy and found an Artificial Intelligence Startup Hala Systems which helps to save the lives in war-torn regions. Aleppo is also included in it. Cuban made this announcement of investment with a tweet saying, “Hala uses AI for social good to do truly extraordinary work in the world’s toughest places.”

What is meant by Hala? What’s its purpose? Hala is an early warning system that is used to alert the Syrian civilians whenever any air strike has been launched. The Hala System includes AI technology, IOT, and remote sensing to predict, locate and identify the danger. According to the announcement, this system which is termed as Sentry Syria has saved hundreds of lives and stopped thousands of injuries. Most of the Syrians live under the threat of bombs but with the help of this system, they get an alarm of about 7-10 minutes which are enough to descend 20% to 30% of the death rate.

Mark Cuban commented on the Hala System and Syria saying that, “Hala is saving lives where they’re nearly impossible to save. Sentry is a great example of using AI for good in one of the toughest places on Earth. Technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship are powerful foreign policy tools, and they should be used more to promote stabilization along fragile geopolitical fault lines — to move upstream in tackling problems like migration, terrorism, and genocide.”

How does this Sentry service work? Sentry uses a multi-sensor network and artificial intelligence to secure combination of aircraft observation by civilian observatories, real-time algorithmic forecasting of endangered areas, and the distribution of accurate, appropriate alerts to as many civilians as possible within seconds. Syrians, through their mobile phones, subscribe to the Sentry service. They get training through the company on how to long to stay hidden after the arrival of the warning message.

Along with the $1 million investment in AI, Cuban is rumored to walk around the 2020 presidential bid. He is a hardworking man and knows how to make even the simplest move with full strategy. Hala System founders, Rocket Scientists and “Former American Diplomat” plans to move forward in diverse regions and to construct new products “for new use cases and markets”, as the fund has been raised by Cuban. Recently, the company has managed to secure itself in Yemen and this technology also delivers asset protection along with saving many lives.
