A truth that’s self evident: Ashley Graham is drop dead gorgeous. In fact, she’s so stunning at first glance, it’s truly hard to look away. And now she’s just made it even harder: A new photoshoot of the brunette beauty has recently surfaced in which she’s in a cheeky swimsuit that shows off her fleshy curves and “imperfections.” Read on below.
Are you a fan of Ashley Graham? Do you think more models should show off their cellulite? Tell us why or why not below!
Damn! Last week, curvy goddess Ashley Graham was caught on the beach in Miami in the midst of a smokin’ hot Baywatch-themed photoshoot. The 29-year-old model was spotted rockin’ a tantalizing red one-piece while taking part in a beach series in which she posed on the sand and on a jet ski. Can we say damn!
Iconic suit. In pictures that surfaced from the photoshoot, the body-positive model dons the classic swimsuit that Baywatch made iconic as she cruises around on a jet ski in sunny Miami. We should note that cheeky swimsuit was slightly different than the original, however, as it featured a Brazilian-cut backside. Um… Yes, please.
Teyana Taylor. The shoot, which may been for guest cameos in the upcoming Baywatch movie (yes, that’s a thing), also featured singer, songwriter, dancer, and actress 26-year-old Teyana Taylor. We suspect Teyana looks familiar to you from Kanye West’s mesmerizing “Fade” music video.
Cellulite. Beyond how stunning Graham looks in the pictures, the series has made headlines for another reason: her cellulite. Indeed, in the photos Graham’s cellulite is clearly visible. The thing is, unlike other celebrities and models, the 29-year-old isn’t afraid to show it. Seriously, this lady rocks!
Reactions. Reactions to the photos have been mixed, though they’ve generally been positive. “She’s by far the best looking one there,” one user commented on the Daily Mail. “I admire her confidence especially alongside slim models. But all that fat on her body is not healthy long term.”
Reactions. “Gorgeous woman and doesn’t care about any imperfections or what society and small minded idiots call imperfections,” a “marino77” shared. “Fabulous curves, fabulous personality and great chick!” Another used said: “I think she looks great , she doesn’t care what anyone thinks. I bet she is great fun to go out with loves her food etc etc..”
Fabulous. Sporting her bodacious backside and her dimples, it’s clear to see that Graham is fabulous — f*ck what the haters say. “I work out. I do my best to eat well. I love the skin I’m in,” she wrote in a caption for a January Instagram post alongside a picture of herself in a bikini. “And I’m not ashamed of a few bumps, lumps of cellulite, and you shouldn’t be either.” Hell. Yeah.
Fabulous. The fabulous Teyana has also been candid about her own body issues. “My favorite part [of my body] used to be my breasts, but now my breasts belong to Junie,” she said in an interview with Self magazine, referring to her 1-year-old daughter with hubby Iman Shumpert, an NBA player for the Cleveland Cavaliers. “I appreciate every stretch mark, every sag. One boob is bigger than the other… but it is what it is. I love my body and I love the place that I’m in.”
Racy shoots. In the past, Graham has been no stranger to racy photoshoots. Just last month, Graham landed a spot amongst Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Edition models, filming a video for the renown magazine while on location in Fiji. Yes, you read that right. Fiji. Talk about #CareerGoals.
Racy shoots. Of the shoot’s photographer, Graham said in the Sports Illustrated vid: “I’ve never shot with Yu Tsai before, he is so charismatic and what I really like about Yu Tsai is he lets me be me.” Apparnerently, the feeling was mutual: “When you work with a model that really understands their body and has confidence like Ashley has, you can see it, in front of you, through the lens, and in images,” Tsai explained in the clip. “They give you magic every single time.”
Beautiful. Graham concludes the Sports Illustrated vid by saying that becoming a part of the SI “family” has established what she long thought to be true. “Now I’m being told, actually, yes you are beautiful,” she said. “You are the epitome of what should be a part of diversity and change in the fashion industry. Every single day I’m pinching myself… because I had no idea that any dream that I ever thought of could actually be a reality and I feel so lucky and so blessed to be where I am today.”
Nude and nearly nude. While the beauty is certainly not afraid to show off her fleshy curves, she makes it a point to note that there’s definitely a line between nude and nearly nude. “For me, I don’t do nip or bush. I won’t do it. And that’s because I talk to numerous young women in high school and I talk to them about owning who they are, and not giving up their sexuality because they have to,” she said in an interview with Elle.
Nude and nearly nude.”I think it’s important for women to honor their vagina. A lot of us give it up quickly just to feel love. For me, being in Sports Illustrated is saying, love yourself. Be proud of who you are,” she continued. “You know, my Lane Bryant ads are non-retouched. You see every lump and bump. Even when I saw it, I was like, ‘Well, I thought I was sucking in more than that. Oh well.’ It’s real. P*rn is artificial on so many levels.” Speaking of Lane Bryant…
Lane Bryant. Earlier this week, Graham stripped down for a sexy new campaign for Lane Bryant. The image, which went viral, showcases a naked Ashley, ready to be dressed by fashion designer, Prabal Gurung. Bad in New York City, Gurung is hte mastermind behind the new capsule collection for the plus-size retailer.
Lane Bryant.“I was nude for that first photo as a reminder that this is for you, the curvy everyday woman, and also to shock the system,” Ashley told Extra. “This is what we need,” she continued. “We need designers like Prabal that are taking the risk of putting girls that look like me and even bigger in the campaign.”
