Woodford Reserve UK Brand Ambassador Tom Vernon created his version of the Mint Julep for this year's Kentucky Derby.
This Mint Julep might be something that Wags from Showtime's Billions would order. The reason why the Woodford Reserve Mint Julep costs $1000 (yes, that's a thousand dollars) is because it's served in a limited edition Kentucky Derby Cup. Each cup is handcrafted by Louisville jeweler, The Vault.
This is the 12th year that Woodford Reserve commissioned these limited edition sterling silver (known as Royal Cups) or gold-plated silver cups (known as Noble Cups). And each year, Woodford Reserve chooses a different charity to benefit from the sales of the cups. This year, the Kentucky Derby Museum is the beneficary of this tasty fund-raising. You can purchase one of the 90 sterling silver cups, or any of the 15 gold-plated cups here.

When the horses fly around the course at the Kentucky Derby on May 6th, use this recipe and raise your glass to these equine heroes and heroines.
