How essential is Forest Essentials?

Forest Essentials – Lip Scrub “Cane Sugar”

I had heard about using face scrubs and skin scrubs to exfoliate dead skin to give you that all time smooth and glowy look you always wanted but a Lip Scrub was something new to me! Forest Essential’s Cane Sugar lip scrub was something my friend recommended to me to clear off all the dried skin on my lip and rescue it from the damage caused by the constant use of cosmetics such as lipsticks on my lips. I though what the heck, let’s give it a shot! I popped by their shop in Panjim, Goa and bought my very first 8g lip scrub from them for Rs. 475. At first sight I thought “Wow that’s a lot of money for such a tiny little container” but boy was I wrong! This little container lasts extremely long – Total value for money!

Packaging:

This cute little gold lip container comes in brown box with description of the product on it along with directions to use. Apart from the brown box it comes in the container has got that elegant classy look going on for itself!

Ingredients:

Made with fine crystals of cane sugar hand mixed with Jojoba, Sunflower and Olive oils along with Shea butter, Organic Beeswax and fruit juices, this Cane Sugar lip scrub is an absolute delight and one may say a ‘miracle worker’.

My experience:

The content of this little container has that ‘oh so sweet’ sugarcane aroma to it that gets your mouth watering on the very first whiff. A tiny bit of this pastel yellow gel based creamy scrub is more than enough to exfoliate all that dried skin right of your lips and leave them feeling smooth for days! You probably need to use it just once in 4 – 5 days making the content last long for you. I must say my friend was spot on about this product! This lip scrub is a miracle worker that undoes all that damage you caused to your lip with years of use of cosmetics.

My rating – 4/5 (-1 for the outer brown box – Hey if the inner container is so cute I am sure the outer box could be made prettier, maybe a see through plastic case!)

Forest essentials – Ayurveda Head Massage Oil – Bhring Raj

Another product I purchased on my trip to Forest Essential was the Bhring Raj Hair oil. It’s meant to work really well for people who suffer from hair fall. I have curly hair, and any girl who has curly hair will know, not to anger the beast!! My hair is dry from constant blow drying, straightening and colouring. The one thing I can do to heal my distressed locks is to give it some kind of nourishment. On browsing through the store (Which I must say is very elegantly designed), I saw this oil and the sales representative told me it is really good for hair fall (friendly guy, I must add). I picked it up immediately. I bought the 50 ml bottle for Rs. 350/-. You can get a 200 ml bottle for Rs. 1195/-.

Ingredients:

The Bhring Raj Oil contains Organic Black Sesame (which gives the oil a dark yellow colour) and Virgin Coconut Oils. The nourishing properties of these oils with essential vitamins and fatty acids are easily absorbed into the skin and make the head deeply relaxed.

Packaging:

The hair oil comes in a see-through bottle with a golden cover. The oil has a strong smell, something for you to get used to while using the oil. The front of the bottle has a purple sticker with the name of the oil – Bhring Raj and Forest Essentials inscribed on top. The back of the bottle lists the ingredients and pricing of the product.

Experience:

I applied the oil an hour before washing my hair, and the results were amazing! My hair was so soft and it felt deeply nourished. My friends complimented me on the softness of my hair, which I personally felt was a major plus point for me. As far as their claim goes of curbing hair fall, I think the Bhring Raj Hair Oil does a fairly decent job. My hair fall has reduced quite a bit and the texture is so soft, now I end up playing with my hair all day long (*Giggles* :)).

My rating

I give the Forest essentials Bhring Raj oil a 4/5. It helped in my hair fall problem and kept my hair feeling nourished and oh so soft! (-1 for the smell of the oil, I guess I need some time to get used to it but no big deal)
