With 4K content now available and 4K HDR displays becoming a little affordable, 4K HDR is no more a niche high – end technology. And while 4K HDR is still becoming a norm, here’s LG announcing the next big thing for its OLED. The team at LG Display announced the world’s first 88 – inch, 8K resolution OLED display, the largest and highest resolution OLED panel to date. It has 7, 680 x 4, 320 pixel resolution which is 33 million pixels. And that’s all that LG shares with regards to its specifications. Folks attending the CES 2018 would get to experience closely this newest offering of the South Korean electronics giant, which is scheduled from 9th – 12th January 2018 at Las Vegas. The largest OLED until now was 77- inches and that too came in 4K. These 77 – inches 4K OLED displays are currently provided by the consumer electronic giants like LG, Sony and Panasonic. When it comes to OLEDs, these make for deeper blacks, more life – like colors and wider viewing angles. While we do have non – OLED 8K displays out there, LG’s newest offering is the only OLED that’s 88 – inches and fits in 33 million pixels.
