There are many types of Braids hair used in the world, from typical two strand braid for all hair in China and India to three strands in each on many braids in Africa. Each braids style has its distinctive qualities and can be used for special purposes as well as to show ethnic styles in hair. I will help you better understand the common types of braids and how can you take care of each type of braid.   Regular Three Strand Braids   Regular three strand braids is the most commonly used braids style in the world. Partly because Indian and Chinese make three strand braids only. AS a baseline of braids hairstyles, three strand braid is the simplest and the easiest braids style to make. This braids style is made like you juggle your hair. You make three strands of your hair, pass two alternatively on central strand; and you are done with making three strand braids hairstyle. You can make this braids style in less than ten minutes and you can carry it around anywhere as a casual hairstyle. Get better control of your tresses by braiding second-day. You can get better tresses by dampening your hair before braiding or by using a braids paste.   The Fishtail Braid Style The fishtail braid is made with two strands of hair only. Though this braids styles uses lesser strands but it is not as simple as three strands braids style. In fishtail braiding technique, you make two equal strands of hair. You pass a section of one strand beneath the other and, in second turn, put a section of hair from first strand beneath second strand. Repeat this till the end of hair. It is better if you don’t braid your hair till end and make a small ponytail instead at the end of your hair. You can make a ponytail first and then start braids your hair in fishtail. This will give you more control of your hair and strands and you will be able to make smoother fishtail braids. This braiding style needs a “pancake” effect after it is done to give it a loose, deconstructed look. Fishtail braids looks best in a loose, deconstructed fashion. In this braiding style, you start from your front hair, take three equal strands of hair, pass it over one another alternatively only with adding more hair to each strand. Adding more hair to each strand gives your French braid a symmetric look and a patterned appearance. French braids may be hard to make for some. You start braiding your hair from nape and end braiding at crown of your head. You will need to flip your head completely to make upside down braids. Just keep your strand kept tightly to make better braid. More less than often, upside down braids are made with bun on crown. Here is a video tutorial for you on how to make upside down braids.     The Dutch Braid Dutch braid is a variation of French braid. You place your hair strands beneath hair instead of upside in Dutch braids style. Installing your hair strands beneath helps your braids sit tight on your head. To make milkmaid braids, simple create two pigtail braids and make a headband by pinning these pigtail braids on the crown of your head. Milkmaid braids is relatively easier to make for beginners. You can also create Halo braids with French Braids by pinning French braids around your hair.     The Four Strands and Five Strands Types of Braids Till this point you know about only two strand and three strands braids. You will be surprised to know that there even exists four, even five strand braids styles. The best way to learn how to make four strand baids is to watch this video tutorial. The process is not too difficult but you have to give it some time first.
