Aishwarya Rai Bachchan turns fairy princess at Cannes 2017

The Indian celebrity attendance at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival has been steadily garnering more and more international press in the last few years. The red carpet at the yearly event is one of the biggest fashion galas of the glamour world. Celebrities are seen attending the event in outfits designed by the finest couturiers of the industry.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who has been the face of L’Oreal Paris in India for several years now, made heads turn with a beautiful powder blue gown designed by Michael Cinco. The gown is from his latest Impalpable Dream of Versailles collection that was showcased in Dubai in March this year.

The silhouette will take you to the fairy tales with the huge volume and and the soft floral texture. It has a disney princess like look to it and Aish carries it with aplomb. What surprised me was that the stylist chose a straight hair style rather than the wavy look that the actor generally carries. Although having no extra jewellery was indeed a good idea. The entire focus was on the gorgeous dress and the simplistic styling was a compliment like no other.

The dress also brought out Aishwarya’s beautiful eyes which was a stroke of genius in my opinion. This year Aishwarya hasn’t taken any risks as she did last year with the purple lipstick which got a mixed feedback from her fans back home. Personally I thought it was a risk that was worth taking. At last we had one Indian Diva not afraid to try stuff. But well, this rather traditional way suits lady Bachchan to the T too.

Although the other dresses she chose to wear at Cannes were not as stunning or outstanding as the blue one, they are beautiful too. She wore a green tiered tissue dress on the first day by Yanina Couture and then she was gorgeous in a classic nude floral gown by Mark Bumgarner.

She chose to showcase a orange pout with a black draped pleated fabric dress designed by Ashi Studio, and a wonderful solid red strapless dress with a lot of layers and a trail with cherry black lips.

Check out her looks through the festival this year:
