In the last few days, the larger than life Diesel The Full Guard touchscreen smartwatch has been the topic of conversation among many tech geek at IFA 2018. Designed with a 1.39-inch display and a case size of 47mm by 56mm, the enormous chronometer comes with two standout features, a one-hour quick-charge and NFC payment technology via Google Pay.
Diesel has evolved from being a leading pioneer in denim into premium casual wear, becoming an alternative to the established luxury market. Still standing for passion, individuality and self-expression, the innovative international lifestyle brand first released in 2017, The Full Guard’s second version promises to be more than just another handsome watch. Promising to last at least 1-2 days one full charge, the smartwatch has 4GB of storage and is more fitness-focused with emphasis on things like GPS and heart rate tracking. With a high degree of water resistance, Andrea Rosso, Diesel’s head of licensing, told Digital Trends, “I’m proud that now our wearable technology and features match our bold design, and make us competitive in the wearables market.”
Available in three colour combinations, a Gunmetal Grey case with a brown strap, a black case with a black strap, and a black case with a Gunmetal Grey Strap, the All On Full Guard 2.5 watch will cost $325.00. The gunmetal version with the metal link bracelet will cost $350.00. Hoping to woo watch enthusiasts, the oversized timepiece will not be for everyone. As a woman who has no problem wearing watches designed for men, I have a feeling that my somewhat ‘dainty’ wrist might not be able to wear this bad boy all day. The new Diesel On Full Guard 2.5 will be available to buy as of October 2018.
