Without a doubt, the Mackage S/S15 runway show was one of the collections we were the most excited about. The Montreal based brand is most well-known for their prestigious leather. One thing is for sure, they did not disappoint on the runway. The classic beige trenchcoats were detailed with leather paneling placed specifically to add accents to the coat. If you are looking for a good quality trench, that doesn’t look like every coat out there, you will want to put one of these on your list.
Mackage’s S/S 2015 Collection
On top of the already beautiful trenches, Mackage surprised us by adding bold moto jackets and bomber jackets, all in bright, audacious colors such as strawberry tones, pale yellows and cobalt blues. We weren’t surprised that the fit of the jackets were tailored to perfection and made the jackets look unique to the brand.
The designers also played with mixed textures and sheer layers to create depth, strength, and energy to the garments. The texture which caught our attention the most was, obviously, the fringe which moved freely down the runway. Mackage made sure that the heavier leather on their jackets did not weigh down the entire look. We especially loved the blues and pinks that were added within the fringe giving it extra definition and character.
If the jackets and details weren’t enough, the perfectly paired leather handbags need to be on your list. The handbags easily took some of the beige trenchcoats and added a pop of color to brighten up the looks. Despite this; Mackage made sure to incorporate beautifully, crisp, white handbags in case you are looking for a more sophisticated, staple handbag for your personal collection.
Thank you for letting us lust over your leather Mackage.
