When you start texting someone you like, it feels amazing. It finally feels like your crush likes you back and wants to be with you. After a few days or weeks, you start to notice something unusual. It seems like he texts you Everyday, but he never makes plans to Hang out. Obviously, you have to hang out with someone to get to know them better and to actually have a relationship. If you can never actually hang out, you might as well be in a long-distance relationship. While there is nothing wrong with this, it is a bit weird to feel like you are in a long-distance relationship with someone who lives near you. What is going on in his mind?
He Texts Me Everyday, But Never Makes Plans to Hang Out
There are a number of different reasons why a guy might text everyday, but never make plans to hang out. From feeling hesitant to just being busy, there are different reasons why he can’t be around you in person. You have to look at his entire behavior and messages to see what he really means by his actions.
1. He Has Just Been Busy
Obviously, he must like you on some level. Otherwise, why would he keep responding to your texts? Unless his responses were one-word answers just to be polite, you can assume that he likes you on some level if he keeps texting you everyday. Thus, the most likely answer about why he texts everyday, but never makes plans to hang out is that he is busy. He can text on his breaks at work or while he drives home. He can’t magically disappear from work to see you though. While he might not be able to hang out with you know because of how busy he is, he obviously prioritizes you because he spends so much time texting you.
If you are uncertain whether this is the reason or not, ask him what he is up to. If he is busy, he will have a long list of things to share. Also, he might take this question as a hint that you would like to hang out with him and make a move. Either way, you will find out why he can’t make plans to hang out yet or actually get to hang out with him.
2. He Is Shy
Not everyone can relax and feel comfortable around their crush. In fact, it is far more normal for people to feel nervous around a crush than it is for them to feel relaxed. If he really, really likes you, being around you can feel intimidating. He may constantly wonder if he is doing the right thing or making himself look ridiculous. Because of this, he may feel more comfortable texting you than than talking to you in person.
If this is the case, keep the texts going! Be patient because he might need time to work up the courage to talk to you and be around you. You can also try making a move and asking him to hang out if you want to take some of the pressure off of him.
3. He Doesn’t Know Where Things Are Going Yet
This is always a possibility. When you meet someone, you feel attracted to them. You can’t really know if you actually want to date them until you get to know them better. Right now, his text messages are a way for him to figure out if this relationship is worth pursuing. In the right relationship, the two people fit like puzzle pieces that perfectly complement one another. If he ends up deciding that the relationship isn’t right, it just means your puzzles pieces weren’t a perfect match. Keep talking to him for now and give him a chance to figure out if he wants to pursue the relationship further.
4. He Isn’t Actually Interested
Hopefully, this is not the case. It is possible that he does not actually want a relationship and is only being polite by messaging you. Look at his texts to see if this is the case. If he never initiates texts and tends to give just short replies, then he may just be acting politely by responding. If he seems to enjoy having conversations with you, then he at least likes you as a friend and might like you as something more.
5. He Is Only Bored and Needs a Friend
We have all been stuck in line or on a bus and needed someone to talk to. Your crush might just be bored at work or on his way home and need someone to chat with. He might like you as a friend, but he may only view you as a friend. If he never asks to hang out with you in person, then it is entirely possible that he just likes chatting with you.
