You’d think that having a mother who’s an exceptional cook would mean that her daughter would somehow inherit her noteworthy culinary skills. Not I. I am more gifted at eating than cooking… It wasn’t until I become a mom myself that I finally set foot in the Kitchen, dusted off the pots and pans and learned to turn on the oven.

Fast forward a couple of years, cooking has become second nature to me. Although I’m still very much of a novice and stay clearly away from complicated recipes, I delight in whipping up morsels to nourish my family. So much so that these days, I spend most of my time cooking, baking, feeding, and of course, eating.It’s no wonder that the kitchen is the heart of the home. So much bonding, conversing and sharing happens around meal times and dining tables. Well at least that’s the case in our home, although our kitchen looks nothing like this!

Depicted in these photos behind me is the grand, natural stone kitchen of the Bayside mansion (as seen in my recent posts) with its double-doored cooking arena complete with a WOLF STOVE, Miele dishwasher, coffee machine, steamer, integrated refrigerators, ice maker and wine fridge. I’m loving the ample storage behind the parquetry doors- kinda like a hidden pantry. Oh, and there’s a wine cellar downstairs that can house 500 bottles.

This is a kitchen that dreams are made of.  If you are the lucky buyer of this prestigious property, I hope that you entertain to your heart’s delight! Because it would be a crime to not have your loved ones over for a bite, or two.

One day, I’d love to have my own bespoke kitchen, but before that day dawns,  I will appreciate all that my little kitchen has to offer. And more importantly, I will endeavour to master more dishes, especially those made by my mother.
