It’s the end of a Kardashian era! Back when the Kardashian family was not the media juggernaut they are now, they opened and ran a line of clothing boutiques. Dash Stores were the beginning of the Kardashian brand, and were featured in their show Keeping Up with the Kardashians. The stores even had their own reality show, called Dash Dolls. The first store opened in Calabasas in 2006, and other locations popped up in L.A., Miami, and New York over the years.
But now that the family has a multi-million dollar empire to run, the time has come to close this chapter of their lives.
Kim and Kourtney announced that DASH stores would be closing their doors on May 28. It’s been 12 years, and it sounds like it’s just time to move on. It probably doesn’t help that bring and mortar retail in general is taking a beating. The sisters said that a shift in priorities behind the decision. And it makes sense! They’re all moms now, with their own successful business ventures. I’m not sure how much of a profit the stores were turning at this point, but I can’t imagine it made financial sense to keep them open.
The closing of DASH stores may come as a surprise to some, but it seems like it’s time.
