Fashion Tips For This Festive Season

The Festive Season is upon us, and you’re probably going to be in and out of pujas, parties and everything in between. This is your year to give ‘em the old razzle dazzle and be the belle of the ball. But you’ve got to feel like a queen if you want to be treated like one. There’s nothing like a dazzling outfit to add to your oomph factor, so here are some handy fashion tips before you head into the festive season:

The Bling Thing

There’s a jewellery set for every occasion and every outfit, but you’ve got to find the right one. When in doubt, keep it classy and traditional. For instance, Kundan jewellery enhances just about any outfit and there is no end to the kind of designs available. Not a fan of stones? Stick to gold-toned metallic necklaces and pendants to add some old-world elegance to your outfit.

Go With The Flow

An anarkali is about as regal as it gets and there are plenty of trendy options to choose from. The latest anarkali suits will please even the pickiest of fashionistas. Play with lengths, necklines and colors to give your outfit a little personality. Opt for jewel tones if you are looking to make a dramatic statement. However, when you want a light, subtle look, pastel colors like peach work best.

Salwar Suit-Up

Keep the cuts simple. There’s no point in wearing a salwar suit that looks like an anarkali. That doesn’t mean you can’t experiment at all though. Get the kurta stitched jacket-style with cut-work embroidery on the bottom or design an interesting neckline. Vintage prints and florals are in this season.

The Whole Nine Yards

A saree is the ultimate Indian ensemble. Versatile and always in style, they lend an air of dignity unmatched by any other ethnic outfit. Embroidered, handcrafted sarees are perfect for just about any event. Breathable fabrics like chiffon and georgette are currently in vogue, and you can team them up with matching blouses. If you’re looking to mix things up a bit, you can experiment with blouse colors and cuts to create an interesting contrast with your saree.

Skirt Around

Ghagra cholis are extremely versatile—from design to the way you style it - this is a fantastic festive option. For a fusion look, pick up crop tops in basic colors to wear as cholis, or pair traditional cholis with simple flared skirts. Don’t forget to have fun with your dupatta! Drape it like you would drape a half sari, or tie one end of the pallu to your wrists for a stately look. There’s really no set way to wear a ghagra choli, so just make it your own!

Loads of love,
