Ginger for menstrual cramps. Ginger improves blood flow and reduces inflammation in your muscles. That includes the uterus muscles, where cramps originate during periods. Just drink a cup of warm ginger tea, as it is also provides relief from period pains.

Cranberries for urinary tract infections. Cranberries contain proanthocyanidins, which ward off the UTI - causing bacteria. They also help protect against infections. 

Oatmeal for eczema. Calm your itchy, inflamed skin with this breakfast food. Oatmeal is packed with phytochemicals, which have anti-inflammatory properties that soothes rashes. Add 1/4 cup of oatmeal to enough water and apply the paste directly to the skin for 10 minutes.

Sea salt for dry skin. To treat rough patches on your knees, elbows, and heels, use a Sea Salt scrub. It acts as a good exfoliator as it contains thick grains that help clear dry skin. Mix one cup of sea salt with 1/2 cup of a massage oil and use it as an exfoliator.

Prunes for constipation. Rich in Insoluble Fiber, dried plums can help fight constipation. Insoluble fiber creates more bulk so that the waste matter in the digestive system can be flushed out.

Sugar for hiccups. Put a teaspoon of sugar underneath your tongue when you hiccup. This way, you can fool your body into stopping the diaphragm from undergoing a series of spasms. The sweet sensation in the mouth stimulates the vagus nerve, which controls the stomach.

Apples for heartburn. Foods like soda or fried items trigger acid reflux. And the best way to deal with it is by eating an apple. The pectin content in apples absorbs the stomach acid and provides relief.

Turmeric for infections. While turmeric treats wounds, it is also known to prevent infections. Its curcumin content has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, which help in cleansing and healing. It also has the ability to stop bacteria from multiplying.
