How to sell designer handbags online: 4important notes
1. Take measurements

Key measurements
People are going to want to know how big the bag is:
- Height
- Length
- Width
- Strap drop
This diagram shows you how to measure a bag properly.
2. Document condition
Properly documenting condition is one of the major flaws for most people just learning how to sell designer handbags online. Make sure you’re describing all of the flaws and signs of wear on the bag in detail. If the straps are fraying, take a picture and let your buyers know about it! If there are ink marks on interior, let them know! (Of course, try to get the ink stains out first.)
People who are buying second hand items are aware that these items have been used. If you don’t tell them about imperfections up front, chances are they will find out about them when the receive the item! That means unhappy customers and possibly even you paying for return shipping.
3. Note the material
Patent leather, pebble embossed, canvas, nylon, alligator, etc. Sell your item! Don’t hide those beautiful details! Use your gift of language!
4. Verify authenticity
Make sure your bag is the real deal. Not only is it illegal to sell replica handbags and pass them off as authentic, it’s also really mean. This is something that I’m still continuing to master myself. I’m consistently looking up reputable blogs that help people to identify the reals vs. the fakes.
Bonus! Glasses: Sunglasses/Prescription
Make sure you head on over to where they keep the glasses! I’ve found some real gems on days that I had just about written off as a dud.

Above are a pair of Brand New Chanel Titanium Prescription Glasses. These little beauties were purchased for $6.27 and resold for $64.99. Yes, this is a little low of a resale, but my selling tactics are more about volume of sales than capitalizing on the most I can get for each product. Right now, I can’t afford to let it sit for longer than a month.
1. Frame Shape
Make sure you list the shape of the glasses:
- Aviator
- Round
- Classic Wayframe
It will also make your item more searchable and make people want to click on your listing.
2. Measurements
All the measurements you will need can be found on the arm of the glasses! It will look something like this: 50-18-140. That translates as follows:
- 50: Lens Diameter
- 18: Bridge Width
- 140: Arm Length
Also, it’s important to note that these measurements are in millimeters. So if you happen to find a gorgeous pair of Dior Sunglasses but the marking have worn off over time, break out that ruler and get to measuring!
3. Condition
Make sure you tell people what the are buying. If the lenses have scratches on them, don’t hide it. Your buyer will find out.
Hopefully these tips have helped you learn how to sell designer handbags online…and designer glasses as well! Properly following the above takes extra time but will increase your chances for repeat customers shrink the amount of time it takes to make a sale.
