The Chasing Lights Collective have teamed up with international watch brand G-Shock to run a night called Regulate which has returned for a brand new and revived eight week programme, they meet up every week for some group training and exploration into managing stress through exercise helping to ease tension on the body and mind.
ChasingLights Collective was created to support, inspire and lead individual people or small groups of people into the world of fitness through generating communities or “crews” to show you that you’re not alone when it comes to looking for a positive way to live and keep fit. They work at your pace and leave no one behind, their running nights have become a huge success and are very popular helping people to overcome athletic insecurities through positive group reinforcement.
The nights work by breaking the meetups into two parts as this helps to Focus on each area within the programme which in the end provides better results.
The first part is all based around focus, more specifically Focus on the power of Breathing. Looking at how your breathing can be used to calm down your body and restore balance within your body and mind. They aim to teach members how to increase the capacity of their lungs as well as using them in the most efficient way possible. You can learn how to hack your nervous system, aerobic thresholds, co2 tolerance and more.
Focus can play a big part in our lives, especially in our day to day routine. If you’re not focused in the morning you could forget any number of things and this can have a knock on effect for the rest of the day. If you’re not focused during work it can effect how well you do your job and this can make you stressed, more stress makes you lose focus and this goes on and on and on.
This is exactly why Focus is such a big part of the program and why it comes first, you must understand focus before anything else can be done.
The second part is called Regulate and is designed for people who are looking for work on using focus and the techniques learnt in part one whilst exploring the city. The positive team over at ChasingLights lead this group as they venture out in the the city to explore the streets of the West End. The aim of part two is to put all of the things they have learn into action, the ChasingLights personnel are on hand to walk or should I say run you through everything helping you keep your breathing in check whilst also navigating the evening lights of the city. Strength and conditioning also play a part in part two which aims to test your knowledge and endurance.
