The hardest part about doing anything is getting started. I have found this to be so true, especially when it comes to my Fitness Goals at the beginning of the year. Once I get started on my daily workout routine, I seem to be fine. But, the hard part is making that first step, and then staying motivated and committed to my fitness goals.
When you consider all the great benefits from working out and getting fit, you will be inspired to do workouts more and more often.
Motivation is everything. Do it because you care about your health and you know how much better your life will be when you are in shape.
If you want to change your lifestyle and increasing your athletic ability, or simply lose weight, take a look at these 5 great reasons to get a Jump Start on your fitness goals.
1. You will look better
It’s too easy to slide on everyday eating habits and do one of two things- either overeating or eating too many things that are bad for your health. If losing weight is one of your fitness goals, try eating more foods that help reduce stress and cut calories. In general, if you increase your intake of fruits and vegetables and decrease your intake of dairy and meat, it will be easier to lose weight and get in shape. The end result will be that you will look better. Weight loss is one of the main reasons people work out.
2. You will feel better
Regular daily Exercise is the single most important way to stay healthy. Research shows that people who get enough exercise every day, generally feel better. This is because exercise naturally causes your brain to release all those feel-good hormones called endorphins. So, when you feel better, you are happier and better able to do anything else you want to do every day. Especially in the winter, when people have a tendency to get depressed more easily because of SAD (seasonal affective disorder), it is important to do things that help your moods.
3. You will have more energy
The amazing thing about regular exercise is your energy levels will be higher. Have you ever noticed that your stamina tends to run out by the end of your work day? Or, that doing things around the house just wears you out? Can you imagine how great it will feel to have more energy to get more things done? Exercise will help you fight off fatigue and give you that energy boost to help you make it through your day and also to have the extra stamina to do more of anything you want to do.
4. You will avoid being sick
Research shows that people who exercise tend to build up their immune system, which will helps you avoid sickness. During the winter this is essential for staying healthy, when many people tend to get sick more often. Daily exercise, even if you just do stretches and sit ups on your living room floor, or a 20 minute cardio routine will help you stay healthy for longer periods of time. Exercise makes you feel better, too, because it improves your moods, when your brain pumps out more of the type of hormones that help you feel good.
5. You will live longer
Another amazing benefit of working out is that it can give you a longer life span. This is an incredible benefit for anyone. With a longer life, you will have more time to spend with your children, friends and loved ones. More time together means more time to create lasting memories of your experiences with loved ones and cherish those times.
Whatever your fitness goals are, you should plan to make regular exercise part of your daily living routine. If you need help getting started, you can ask any fitness trainer for advice. Consult your doctor if you have questions about how to exercise without overdoing it. Everything you do right now to improve your health, will have effects that are positive and lasting in your life.
