This Aged Oriental Beauty Oolong produces beautiful fragrants with a smooth texture and no astringency. Flavors include a honey malty texture with deep florals and a cream mouth feel.
What is Aged Oriental Beauty Oolong
Oriental Beauty Oolong is from Taiwan and the name comes from Queen Victoria (Queen of England), who only knew that the tea was from the orient, she began calling the tea Oriental Beauty, which became its’ common name ever since.
This Oriental Beauty Oolong has wonderful potential for aging when it is roasted properly.
The leaves are highly oxidized which produces a unique depth of flavor, and also such oxidized leaves are less fragile during roasting and aging.
Aging the oolong removes astringency, and any sharpness the leaves might have, producing a smooth, clean rich brew.
Gongfu Brewing Method
- 4 to 5 grams of Aged Oriental Beauty Oolong
- 6 oz Yixing Tea Pot #003
- Water tempiture 180f
- First brew about 20 to 25 seconds
Recommended Preparation
- 1 to 1.5 teaspoons of Aged Oriental Beauty Oolong
- 8 oz or 200 ML of water
- Water tempiture 195f or 90c
- Steep for 2 – 3 minutes
By using the Gongfu method you are able to taste differences in textures, aroma, and flavors between each brew.
