We’ve just started the new year, and one of everybody’s favorite resolutions is to have a healthier new year. Whether you’re looking to improve your diet, get back in shape, or have your beach body back before summer, here’s a number of ways to help you not only achieve your Fitness goals for the new year, but also stay motivated to stick with them!
Make Sure You Do Your Monday Workouts!
Start your week off right with a Monday workout! It’s your first day back after the weekend – and getting your week kicked off with a workout not only helps you stay motivated to get the rest of your Workouts in during the week, but you’re also more likely to stay motivated to eat and drink healthier during the week as well.
Create a Plan
Knowing when you’re going to exercise, what you’re going to do, and how much time you plan on spending on your workout makes it much easier to not only know what to expect for each workout, but also keep track of how your progressing. It’s much easier to stay motivated if you see improvement, and being able to track that improvement against your plan is vital to a successful fitness plan.
Make it Fun!
Doing workouts you hate means you’ll find ways not to do them. But, doing workouts that you enjoy keep them from being boring and unproductive. The goal here should be to do workouts that you’ll look forward to, which can help keep you excited over the long run to maintain your fitness program.
Be Realistic In Your Goals
If you’re looking to loose 10 lbs, don’t be discouraged if those pounds don’t disappear in the first week or two. Remember, it took time to put that weight on – it’ll take some time and effort to loose it as well. But also remember that you “Get To Workout!” – be grateful that your physically able to exercise and make the improvements you’re looking to achieve!
Don’t Wait – But Don’t Overdo It!
Every day you wait to start working on your Fitness Goals puts you one more day away from achieving them. But, also make sure you ramp up your workouts. Start simple. Make this a lifelong commitment to a healthy lifestyle – if you immediately try doing high-intensity, long, grueling workouts, not only are you more likely to burn out on your workouts quicker, but you may increase your risk of injury – and put yourself even farther behind your fitness goals. So, start out easy, and make things more challenging over time. You’ll be more likely to not only make your goals, but enjoy the trip getting there as well!
