Searching through Instagram before bed can take you down a Rabbit hole. Literally.
A few days after the Boston Marathon last week, I ended up on rabbit’s Instagram account and saw some sweet new gear that I wanted to check out. I’ve heard a lot about rabbit, but haven’t bought any of their gear (and honestly, I was bummed that I missed their pop-up shop in Boston over marathon weekend — I didn’t realize they had one, and with Goodr no less!).
I headed over to Safari and started typing in “runrabbit” to head to their site, and Google, probably knowing the psychopath that i am, popped up the URL “runrabbitrunsteamboat.com” and like any normal (crazy?) person, I wanted to take a look at what that was because you know I have a special place in my heart for Steamboat.
Of course, my wheels started to turn (the idea of looking at rabbit clothing was long gone). I had toyed with the idea, after last year’s ultra, that at somepoint I would try a 50 miler and try to beat my 37 miler time.
However, I was pretty convinced that ultras really weren’t for me (mostly because of the training aspect). I liked road races, and I loved marathons, so I probably did a one and done for the ultra scene.
But then… I started talking about it to a few people. And the more I talked about it, the more I wanted to do it.
So this happened:
Yep, I will be running my second ultramarathon — the Run Rabbit Run 50 Miler — this fall in Steamboat Springs, Colorado!
Needless to say, I did eventually end up on the rabbit site and decided to use my clothing budget for other things… like registering for this race…

Have you ever ran a 50 miler? I need your tips!
What are some good books to read about ultra running? I didn’t do enough of this before my last one!
