Ahh I can’t believe that last week at this time, I was on my way to Hopkinton for the Boston Marathon!
And here in Minnesota, they were busy shoveling out from almost two feet of snow.
This Weekend was quite different, both for what we did and what the weather was like.
We kicked off Friday with a show, and saw Kind Country in concert! I saw them the weekend before my birthday, and this weekend, they were at a much more low-key venue (instead of First Avenue) and it was a different experience — still fun!
On Saturday, we went to a musky seminar (I know, #nerd alert — but seriously learned a lot and I’m SO excited for fishing season to officially open this year!) and then I dognapped Brandon’s dog (Archer) and we hung out for the afternoon.
Our first stop: Inbound BrewCo. I love this brewery so much, even more so since it’s only a six minute walk from my apartment. They have some solid beers, and we opted to hit this one up for its second anniversary party.
After that, we snuggled on the couch for a few minutes and then headed out for my first run since Boston! We went for 7 miles, and it was TANK TOP WEATHER.
I don’t even remember the last time I ran in a tank top outside so, super jazzed. I think Archer had a lot of fun too (apparently he would barely move on the couch later after I dropped him off because he was so exhausted, ha), and made friends with my cats (Apollo even purred while they were sitting next to each other, I have no idea where that came from!).
Yesterday, we went fishing on the Mississippi. Or I should say boating, because we legit didn’t catch anything. We had a few bites, but nothing exciting. It made me feel a little less bad since nobody else seemed to be catching anything either. Either way, it was super sweet to be outside + enjoying the weather (I even got a little sunburnt… ha!).
And just like that… it’s Monday! And on top of that, time to train for the next race.
I announced this a few weeks ago, but I’ll be running Revel Rockies the first weekend of June! I’m super excited for this race and to continue down the training path (because it’s my motivator). I am following the Advanced Marathoning in-between marathons training plan (I love this book so much), and will be sharing my goals/how I’m training in the coming weeks!
In the meantime, a few other things I wanted to talk about in today’s post:
- I am switching things up for food prep this week, and ended up making these Honey Glazed Sriracha Meatballs. I am so excited to see how they taste!
- A few weeks ago, I shared some miles I dedicated to #BraveLikeGabe (details HERE). This weekend, I saw that her foundation is hosting an in-person 5k in Minneapolis + virtual one for the 1224 campaign. I really wish that I was in town for the race here, but I’ll be in Nasvhille. But, Minneapolis peeps! Check it out and run it for me. Details HERE.
- I have another race on my mind (eeeek!) and I will be sharing details later this week. But in the meantime, I’m gearing up for Zion National Park this weekend with my sister to run the Zion Half Marathon! I am super stoked for this weekend. If you have any recommendations, let me know!!
What was your favorite part of your weekend? How many miles did you run?
Tell me: Zion National Park recommendations!
