Sparkle from the inside: Detox challenge with Gerolsteiner

Whether it was a bad day, a good one or something in between, I turned to soda as my “reward.” A Mountain Dew was my prize for getting through a day when I couldn’t deal with one more bad thing; it was my gift to myself when I had the best day and needed that little treat just to make it a little bit better.

What I didn’t realize was how bad this little treat really was. Filled with sugar, chemicals and everything in between, it’s surprising that I still have any teeth left after chugging down Mountain Dew for all those years (okay, a little bit of an exaggeration). It’s been 1.75 years since I quit drinking Mountain Dew and all soda, and it was something that I thought would be a lot harder than it was.

But, it wasn’t.

After all, I learned there are better ways to get over a tough day or to treat myself after a great one. And the funny thing is, once I broke my habit, it didn’t even sound that good anymore.

Plus, a major helper in breaking the habit? All of the good things that seemed to happen. I was able to lose 15 pounds. My skin got clearer. I didn’t hit that 3 p.m. slump. I learned to sparkle from the inside.

It was a detox that wasn’t officially called a detox, and it turned into something that changed my life — it seems like such a minor thing, but it’s made some significant impacts on my health.

And now, it’s your turn to join me!

#SparklingDetox with Gerolsteiner

Are you ready to join the #SparklingDetox campaign with Gerolsteiner? | Crazy Running Girl

From September 11-15, Gerolsteiner Sparkling Mineral Water is hosting the #SparklingDetox to invite you to learn about the benefits of staying well hydrated and living a healthy life. To join in, all you have to do is say goodbye to coffee, alcohol, soda and other drinks for five days! That’s easy, right?

Plus, Gerolsteiner has a Facebook group designed to help you stay inspired during the detox… you can join along HERE.

What’s so great about mineral water?

It features many natural minerals, like calcium and magnesium, which are essential to everyday cellular activity. Because our bodies are unable to make these minerals, we need to consume them in our everyday foods and drinks… and mineral water makes it really easy to get the nutrients that we need.

How much should you drink?

All bodies are different, but it’s recommended that you drink between 1.5 to 2 liters of mineral water during the #SparklingDetox… of course, those who exercise and pregnant women may need to drink a little bit more. But, considering it’s zero calorie and has much-needed minerals, it’ll give you what you need.

Where can I find Gerolsteiner?

Check out THIS LINK to see where you can buy Gerolsteiner Sparkling Mineral Water near you… but!

To also get you going for the #SparklingDetox challenge, Gerolsteiner is hosting a sweet giveaway! You could win a case of Gerolsteiner Sparkling Mineral Water to give you everything you need during the #SparklingDetox.

To enter, head on over to the Gerolsteiner website by August 28 at 11:59 p.m. ET… and good luck!

Note, I am promoting the #SparklingDetox with Gerolsteiner on behalf of my role as an ambassador with Sweat Pink. All opinions are my own.

What do you “treat yourself” with after a good/bad/etc. day?

Have you ever done a detox? Are you ready to join in for the #SparklingDetox?
