Granfondo Stelvio Santini

On June 11, 2017 in the heart of the Italian Alps over 3,500 cyclists will enter the 6th edition of the Granfondo Stelvio Santini, will start in Bormio and finish at the top of the 2,758-metre Stelvio Pass. All who ride will get this Santini-branded technical jersey, specifically designed and manufactured by the Bergamo cycling wear company for the race.

The Mortirolo and the Stelvio are two of the most beautiful climbs in the world that echo with the feats of Fausto Coppi and Marco Pantani. During the Giro d’Italia 2012, a single stage saw the peloton take on both of these legendary climbs for one of the most brutal days of the race. Now for the sixth time, the Grandondo Stelvio Santini will allow you to pit yourself against these legendary climbs and follow in the pedal strokes of some of the greatest icons cycling has ever known.

There are three routes on offer – short (60km), medium (137.9 km) and long (151.3 km). Riders will each receive a Granfondo Stelvio Santini cycling jersey – made in Italy by Santini Maglificio Sportivo – as part of their race pack. If you conquer the Stelvio and complete the Granfondo, you will also receive an exclusive ‘finishers only’ ImadelT cap!

The summit of the Stelvio will be cold, the descent even colder. It is strongly recommended that participants bring a full set of winter cycling clothing – warm jacket, bib-tights, warm gloves and overshoes. You can put these items in your clothing bag, along with any other articles you may need. This bag will be supplied when you register together with a race number sticker that you will have to attach to the bag. The clothing bags will be collected at the start and transported to the finish where they will be safely stored until your arrival.

The official jersey of the Granfondo Stelvio Santini is included in your race pack and must be used during the event.

Sounds like an epic Granfondo and challenge!
