Instagram has been all the rage the recent years.

I’m personally not a big fan, but almost everybody else is.

You can use it to make boat loads of sales.

2 Partner with influencers

The second option is what I want to tell you more about.

I’ll just share a story to show you how powerful influencer Marketing can be.

You probably already know most big companies slashed their brand advertising spend. That’s because they now use influencers, as they are cheaper and, as it turns out, way more effective.

That’s what a buddy of mine did with his weight loss company.

As you know, the weight loss market is huge but also highly competitive.

There is still a lot of money to be made in this niche, though. People just love using pills to cut weight instead of healthy food and exercise.

It’s just easy.

Many of these pills do work, they suppress your appetite and at the end you always lose wight.

But I’m not gonna go that deep in this article and will get back to my friend.

A few years ago, he was like:

“Vladi, I’m about to start selling this weight loss product.”

Me:

“That’s awesome, bud. How do you plan on selling it?”

Him:

“I was hoping you could help with that.”

It went something like that, but that’s not what matters.

I told him to reach out to some fitness instructors and pick one who is kinda popular, not those with the huge numbers.

Smaller followings tend to be more interactive and loyal.

I also told him to start with somebody outside the US. The US market is packed and you need big bucks to pull it off. And it’s not necessarily the best option for such products for startups.

I told him to skip second tier countries (non native English speaking countries like Sweden, Norway, Germany etc)  as well and jump right into Eastern Europe.

It’s a shitty place, but people are starting to make money there and fast food is kinda what it used to be 30 years ago in the US – extremely hot.

Eastern Europe is filled with poor people who used to wait in lines for bread. Now, their children are finally making some money and McDonald’s is like a dream to them.

And those are exactly the people who use wight loss pills to cut that extra weight.

So, he chose a small country, picked a guy who had about 70k followers, who was dead cheap, and ended the game.

I’m not gonna share numbers, but you should know even I was surprised how powerful the campaign was.

Once you take off, everything is easy and the whole world is for the taking.

But you should always be smart about your budget in the beginning. Most jump head on with all they’ve got and most times it goes south pretty fast.

If you have the money, you can go straight for the big markets, but you don’t really have to.

This is how you use Instagram to make shit load of sales.
