The World Doesn’t Owe You Dick

Tags: rich blame

I was feeling super fired up yesterday on one of my drives.

I was thinking about my grind, thinking about all the sacrifices that I’ve made to get to where I’m at, and how many more that will have to be made to get where I want to be.

Then I started thinking about everyone else…

and, I got mad.

I wanted to write this post, which will have a slightly different tone than I usually put out there.

You see, I’m angry.

I’m angry at a massive portion of the people in this country.

Before I completely lose my head and explain, understand you may get offended.

If you’re thin skinned, you should probably stop reading now and get back to playing video games or whatever the fuck you do with your life.

Oh yeah…. now we’re getting going!

The first F bomb has been dropped.

I can’t predict the future, but the weather report is showing a serious chance of more profanity to follow.

As you may know, the elections are around the corner.

Everyone has his or her candidate, who they think will make the next 4 years better than the last 8.

Or, maybe you think it’s been gravy and are praying for more of the same.

Either way you look at it, my message is the same.

Probably nothing will change for you, and I’m glad.

The world owes you nothing.

The world owes you nothing.

The reason I touched on the elections was just to illustrate my point a little bit.

We have all these people who make excuses for why they are where they’re at in life.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re white, black, man, woman, straight, gay, poor, Rich, Republican or Democrat… if you don’t have what you want, and you aren’t where you want to be in life, it’s up to YOU!

Nobody is going to rub your back and tell you it’s gonna be ok.

You need to harden the fuck up, and take ownership of your life.

What set me off, you ask?

I see every day in the news people making excuses:

I have all this college debt. I live in a bad neighborhood. I don’t have the same opportunities that person has. My company failed. I can’t find a girlfriend. I’m always broke. My team lost the big game. Blah blah blah.

Like I said, you are where you are because of you!

I point to this political stuff a lot because one of my favorite topics is the “blame the rich” stuff.

College is too expensive. Blame the rich. I have all this debt. Blame the rich. I want 15.00 an hour. Blame the rich. I have to work more than 40 hours a week. Blame the rich.

Now you’ve got candidates feeding off it.

You shouldn’t have to pay for college. Let’s blame the rich. You shouldn’t have to work full time. Blame the rich. You shouldn’t have to make minimum wage even though you’re 30 fucking years old working fast food.. Blame the rich?

Here is the reality:

It doesn’t matter what you’re trying to accomplish in life. If it’s sports, money, success, love life, or anything else, you have to work hard.

Too many people want to place Blame, ask for handouts, for help, or place blame on why they just suck at life.. Let me say this again, the world owes you DICK!

The other day I had some random person, who I don’t even know, get on my Facebook and tell me I’ve had a silver spoon in my mouth, and I’m spoiled, and it’s because I’m white and blah, blah, blah.

Now, I don’t know him. But what this tells me, is that he’s suffering from the same illness tons of people are infected with, including a majority of the millennials out there: Excuse making.

I did not come from a wealthy family. I did not come from a poor family. I’m just from a normal family who loved me and put food on the table.

I never starved, but I didn’t drive a Mercedes to school either.

In fact, side note: my first car was a 1980 Celica, which I’m really proud of.

Regardless of all that, I chose to go a route that many people go: community college dropout, turned labor worker with serious debt by the age of 22.

Now, during this time, if I would have followed in the footsteps of all of these hand out hoping pussies, I would have blamed someone for all this.

My family didn’t pay for my college.

George Bush and Obama didn’t make college free.

The rich didn’t take care of my debt and taxes etc.

Nope. As you know, this didn’t happen.

I was introduced to entrepreneurship.

Entrepreneurship, above all, is really just taking ownership of your life.

Entrepreneurship is really just taking ownership of your life.

I asked a question the other day about what makes people an entrepreneur.  I think it’s dictating the direction of your life, not letting anyone put their thumb on you, and living your days on your terms and your terms only.

It’s not making excuses.

Oh? You’re reading this and you’re not an entrepreneur?

That’s FINE!!

This also means working your ass off at your job, not just clocking in and hiding for 8-10 hours a day.

Maybe it means working overtime.

Maybe, just maybe, it means working 2 jobs.

Athletes, same thing. Outworking the guy next to you. Not blaming your size, background, or lack of opportunity.. but making the most out of every chance you get.

I hear all the time from these infected souls that the rich should get taxed more.

They think that we should elect someone who is going to forgive college debt, rape the rich in taxes, and allow everyone to smoke weed.

That’s cool. But lets ask ourselves a few questions first.

Did you not know college was expensive?

Did you not know the average person didn’t get a job related to the degree in which they earned?

Did you not know that once you graduated, getting employed would be difficult regardless of that piece of paper?

Now, lets cover taxes.

You’re wanting no taxes, but a spike up in percentage to the top 1%?

You want to penalize the people that already pay more dollar amounts to not only taxes but charity than you’ll ever see in your lifetime?

That’s awesome! I’m sure you’ll be really inspired to improve yourself up a few tax brackets when that happens.

Once again, lets just blame the rich.

Even though the average millionaire is first generation. Is there any more free shit we can hand out to you all while we’re at it?

I know what you’re thinking, he is a Republican. Nope. I’m an independent.

What I’m trying to get across is this undeserving sense of entitlement that floods our streets.

Nobody wants to take responsibility for why they are where they are.

It’s sad and frustrating.

You see, I’m going to be very rich.

In 2013, I worked 70 hours a week. I worked 45 + on my job, and about 25 hours a week on my business.

I almost hit $100,000.00 that year in income.

I’m off to a tremendously fast start this year income wise, after taking an absolute beating financially in 2015.

I never party, rarely get to take my wife out on dates, and barely ever splurge our money away.

All we know, my wife and I, is work.

We work our asses off like some people could never understand.

I remember on New Years Eve, seeing photo after photo of all the parties taking place.

All of the people who were letting loose, celebrating, and living that night with no regrets. I applaud you.

My wife and I had our living room filled with work, white board hanging filled with goals, and two glasses of champagne to welcome in the New Year.

Was that anyones fault?

No.

We make this choice every day.

We choose to outwork everyone EVERY day.

We do this now, so we don’t have to be old, making excuses for the “lack of opportunity” down the road.

When people want to say I’m spoiled, you’re right.

I married someone who thinks exactly the same way I do.

I didn’t marry an Instagram model who thinks clubbing is priority number 1.

In that example, I’m spoiled as hell.

What I’m getting at, is it doesn’t matter what it is you’re trying to do with your life.

It doesn’t matter what circumstances you have going on.

The only person who’s responsible for your life, is you.

You don’t even have to be an entrepreneur or love sales.

There’s a book called I Will Teach You To Be Rich by Ramit Sethi that can, in my opinion, help anyone master the basic fundamentals of growing their income. It’s a boring life, but the end result is nice.  I’d pick it up if I were you.

A wise man once said, you are the author to your life story.  Write one worth reading.

You are the author to your life story. Write one worth reading.

I think about this every day.

Every time something good happens, or something bad, I know it’s going to be one hell of a chapter in my first book.

Even if you don’t write one, you should take responsibility for your life, and ensure it’s a good one.

Stop blaming the world. Stop blaming the rich. If you fall, get the hell up and try again.

Nobody owes you anything.

I know that this was probably one of the best, OR hardest posts to read that I’ve done.

I just get so tired of seeing so many people blame other people for their issues.

I’m holding out for a day where, you wake up, and understand that if you have a successful day, or a shitty one, its going to be up to you.

It’s not the rich guy down the roads fault you are where you are. It’s yours.

The question is, what are you prepared to do about it!?

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Feel free to share it, comment, and or tweet this post. With that said, Belvin out!
