3 Everyday Habits To Improve Your Sleep

Following the natural sleep cycle patterns of sunset and sunrise is as important as eating a healthy diet or taking a bath in the morning. We all have those days when we have slept enough and we are able to wake up at the same time in the morning without an alarm clock, feeling refreshed. This has happened with me a lot of times that I would get up 5 minutes before my alarm rings.

Other than that, what’s the most important here is the quality of your sleep. Because, we all have those days too when we aren’t able to follow our natural sleep cycle and it gets disturbed cause of many reasons including work, stress and so on.

Since work and stress is the part of everyone’s life and no matter how hard we try to stay positive, there will be sleepless nights. But here are 3 Everyday Habits to Improve Your Sleep that really help me get the best of my sleeping hours whether I sleep for 4 hours or 6 or more {sometimes }

1. Keeping my Bedroom Dark & Clean

I can’t sleep in a room which has a lot of light & is not organized or un-clean maybe cause of some psychology behind this. Keeping my bedroom dark and keeping my bedroom clean which includes all the furniture, bedsheets, bedding or the pillowcases and other stuff has helped me sleep well at night.

It has helped my mind to relax. It also provides me with some extra time in the morning to exercise or read a book because I don’t have to hurry if my space is well kept.

2. Keeping the Gadgets Away Before Hitting to Bed

Technology interferes with our sleep. Keeping the gadgets away at least 30-45 minutes or an hour prior I head to my bed has helped me a lot cause it lets my mind relax a bit. Hence, it prevents me from going to bed with an overactive brain, which again could make my sleeping difficult.

Try it yourself to improve your sleep and you will know what I am talking about.

3. Write down a To-Do list for the Next day:

This habit of writing down a To-Do list for my next day helps me clear out and prepare my mind for the next day, and this again helps with a perfect start to my morning. This way I have fewer thoughts about the upcoming day at night and I can sleep with fewer worries.

The more my mind is prepared the more I feel like sleeping on time, so I can wake up on a positive note and excitement to go about the day productively.

Other than the above, keeping a Gratitude Journal, Reading Books, a Positive Mindset and an overall Healthy Lifestyle improves our lives in many different ways. Just find out what suits you the best. So, make a new habit of knowing yourself better now and also, improve your sleep.

{Have you ever felt like some bedsheet and pillowcase fabrics don’t let you sleep well? You just don’t feel the comfort and hence, your sleep gets disturbed potentially ruining the next day as well. Well, I have personally noticed this difference and have found this silk store where I get the bedding set or pillowcases with comfortable fabric. Please keep on reading, if you would like to know more.}
