When I think of the things I am Grateful for each day, all I have to do is close my eyes and breath. What comes to mind is my health and the things I am still able to do with ease. I am fortunate that my joints are still flexible and that I can jump rope and run, I can lift weights and mow my lawn with a push mower in the Summertime.I know people who can not.
I am grateful that I have a lawn to mow. I remember when I didn't. I am grateful for my home and the gardens I tend to and the bounty I receive from. I remember when I used to wish of having my own house and yard. I'm grateful when I have enough to share and when I have the opportunity to be of help to someone. It feels good to make others smile. It warms my heart to be able to do something for another being and make them feel a little better.
I am humbled and grateful to clean out cages at the animal shelter to give those precious sentient beings if even a few moments of comfort and care. My animals at home came from shelters or people who did not want them anymore and I have bonded with them. I am sure grateful I can provide a comfortable safe loving home for them along with my family.
There are many things I am grateful for and they are all important for me to share. My freedom I am so fortunate to have that and the ability to make my own decisions and follow my dreams. I am grateful there are no bombs going off all day long and that I am able to feed my family. Or that I am not a miss placed person who has been affected by war and has no home.
We take so many things for granted. Leftovers that are thrown in the garbage.lights on all over the house, running the sink waisting water. When we take a moment to think where we would be if we did not have the comforts that allow our life to run smoothly, you may come to really appreciate your life much more.
So when you are complaining about not having a car remember the fact that you do have legs to walk. And when you are mad your Roof has a leak, be glad that you even have a roof because there are so many who would fight to stay under a leaky roof instead of out in the full-blown rain.Taking time to see the things in your life with gratitude will help keep you grounded and present. It can humble your heart and help you to receive great rewards in your life.
