Why Switch to Organic & Natural Beauty & Skin Care Products

As a public speaker, I try to look decent and all before I go up the stage and talk in front of thousands of people.
I get my hair and make-up done almost four times a month, depending on the number of events I have to do. But when I got pregnant with Kara, I became very cautious of what I use on my Skin. I started researching about the ingredients or products that shouldn't be used by pregnant women.
I also read this book entitled "Organic Beauty" and found out that 60% of the products we use on our skin are absorbed and deposited into our circulatory system.
Of course, one book isn't enough to convince me so I consulted with doctors as well about the stuff to avoid. Plus, not everything marked "organic" or "natural" is safe for pregnant women.
Anyway, having learned what is considered safe and what isn't, I looked at my make-up collection and wanted to cry because ALL OF THEM contained one or more of the products that are toxic to us (pregnant or not).
I discarded them all (good bye thousands of pesos... I realized how much I have been spending for make-up as well).
I got new sets from trusted brands and also learned how to make my own. This season Kara helped me made a lot for gifting -- from lip balms, to salt scrubs, to blush and lotion sticks -- and I realized we got so much of the raw materials, so I decided to create an e-commerce store and just sell the rest --- see www.thepampercornerph.com
We truly believe that using selected natural, eco-friendly products is the safest and most effective way to look and feel your best. As I've mentioned - an increasing number of studies link chemicals in traditional cosmetics, skincare, and other personal care products to health conditions such as allergies, hormonal disruptions, reproductive issues, cancer, and many others.
Currently, the only cosmetic ingredients regulated by the FDA are color additives meaning almost anything can go into cosmetics. This makes it very hard for us, consumers to know which products are potentially harmful.
MY ADVICE: ALWAYS READ THE LIST OF INGREDIENTS BEFORE BUYING.
We carefully chose our raw materials to ensure our products are safe for use, especially by pregnant women and children.
Here are some of them:
For our Lip Balm, we use BEESWAX - a natural moisturizer. Research has also discovered that beeswax contains small amounts of natural antibacterial agents. This is especially helpful for individuals who have excessively dry and cracked lips. These antibacterial agents can help prevent a painful inflammation that comes with an infection. Our beeswax lip balm will also work on other areas of the body that suffer from dry skin. Dry hands, knees, and elbows can all benefit from this type of lip balm.
For our Blush Stick, we use SHEA BUTTER - a proven moisturizer for your skin. It has soothing, anti-aging, and healing properties that make skin appear smoother and younger. I'm sure this one is quite familiar to mommies because this is often included in anti-stretch mark creams!
For our Salt Scrubs, we use Epsom Salts and Virgin Coconut Oil.
Epsom Salts provide additional health benefit in addition to exfoliation. The magnesium and sulfate in Epsom Salts seep into your skin, helping reduce inflammation, flush toxins, and even alleviate headaches. ⠀
Everyone knows what VCO is. Aside from being an excellent moisturizer for the skin, people even drink this to prevent infection and in my mother's case, she used to apply this to our hair while growing up - to help straighten and make it shiny (not because it's oily, but because it's healthy).
I hope, you'll try organic products, as we millennials tend to say -- YOLO! You Only Live Once, so you better take care of your health and well-being, especially if you have kids already :)
Love,
Mommy K
