According to Logic, “1-800-273-8255” is the most important Song he’s ever written. The song, featuring Alessia Cara and Khalid, comes off the rapper’s Everybody album and addresses suicide while inspiring and encouraging listeners to seek help.
Logic tweeted a press release on Wednesday (July 12) from the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline that shows the impact on the Lifeline after the release of the song.

The song is named after the Lifeline’s national phone number, which explains the surge of calls after the song was released (April 28).
Logic raps in the first verse, “They say every life precious but nobody care about mine.” Later in the song, Logic provides a sense of hope and raps “It can be hard / It can be so hard / But you gotta live right now / You got everything to give right now.”
By turning the conversation about suicide from depression and isolation to hope and inspiration, Logic proves that artists have the power to make a huge difference in the world with their platform.
