Is there any business trending worldwide like sports betting?
Maybe 'Yes' or it has finally taken over other forms of business endeavor in recent years.
Is it really wrong to bet?
Well let's get to know what betting is.
Betting is defined as the act of risking a sum of money or valued item against someone else's on the basis of the outcome of an unpredictable event such as a race or game. It is subtle gambling.
The terms 'risk' and 'unpredictable' spells something obscure about betting. While some might suggest that life is about risk and also unpredictable, it wouldn't be right to run two risks at once by making betting a part of your life.
Here are some other reasons why betting is not worth the hassle
- Low Investment : A bettor uses money that could have been used for a far more comfortable investment to bet. In some cases, the individual uses the capital for his legitimate business to bet. If his predicted outcome is not the product of the bet, he looses on both front and has no money to continue.
A bettor also is likely to find other investments as futile while counting on one he doesn't know when he will reap.
- Addiction : Most people ventured into betting with the hope that they'll stop as soon as they win. Since the prospect of winning seems thrilling, they keep spending both time and money in the quest.
Once you've placed your first bet,it will take a huge effort to restrain yourself from placing the next and the journey continues.
This could even get to a point where the person uses money for other purposes to bet.
A boy was reportedly driven home from school after he used his school fees to place a bet.
- Betting Is Expensive : Really? Yes. Though you may not fathom it, a bettor spends more money on betting than he does on other investments. A bettor could even spend more than he can afford as we noticed from the story of a man that sold out his properties to place a bet.
It is also very difficult for a bettor to save as he is only thinking of the next bet.
- Betting Leads To Intellectual Decline : This is true especially when you are a scholar. Since you can't slave for two masters at the same time, one aspect suffers.
Students who engage in betting are under performers when compared to those who don't.
It would be unwise to deliberately harm yourself and even your bright future by engaging in betting.
